For those of you who watched the Netflix Series Making a Murderer, you would recognize the name Dean Strang (left), the defense attorney of Steven Avery. On April 6, Dean Strang spoke in Bresnan Arena at Minnesota State University, Mankato about the Steven Avery case as well as the systematic failures he has seen in the criminal justice system over his 30 years of experience. Patrick Casey (right), a local defense attorney, mediated the conversation. Dean answered questions asked by students and the public, provided to him by people using the hashtag #AskDeanStrang on social media. Strang stayed for a few minutes after he spoke to take pictures with fans.
