Four Eyes? More Like 5 Stars for this Hot New Glasses Website

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MNSU chapter.

Having had glasses since the 2nd grade, just as everyone else in my family, I hardly know any different than the process of going to the eye doctor routinely to update my prescription and refill my contact order. It can be a bit of a hassle, and for sure a hit to the budget if your insurance doesn’t cover the exam or the glasses or contacts that follow. However, for many people, mostly those who don’t require a prescription, glasses are a desirable and cute addition to their look. A fashion statement, one that can at times still come at a price. For some, contacts may not be feasible for whatever reason (eye no-touchers are probably just flinching at the thought), and it can be hard to find glasses that are cute, practical and good quality without breaking the bank.

I recently came across a relatively new site called Zenni. Zenni is a completely online shop that believes everyone should have access to high-quality, affordable eyewear. With prices starting at $6.95 for single-vision prescription glasses, there is no need to limit yourself to just one pair. The options in frames, colors, sizes and lense type are nearly endless. You’ll be able express all facets of your personality with these low-priced glasses and even sunglasses, perfectly customizable to fit you. This is a great choice for families as well, as they carry womens, mens and childrens glasses. Ranging from modern, floral and colored, to standard and old school, they have something for everyone.

The site walks you through the process of measuring your pupillary distance (PD), forehead and bridge width to make sure the glasses you order will match your facial structure and size. Some of this information is easily accessible by calling your optical service provider, but you can also just print off a PD ruler with instructions that Zenni offers. They also have virtual try on, which allows you to scan your face in and it will show you what each pair of eyewear will look like on you. You can easily refine your search based on your preferences and fit, and can peruse the tools that help you find the best size, frame style and fit for your face shape.

All Zenni Optical eyeglasses come with Anti-Scratch Coating and UV Protection Coating. They also offer specialized lenses such as photochromic lenses, which are specially treated to turn dark when exposed to UV light, polarized sunglass lenses that help reduce glare, polycarbonate lenses that are extra durable and impact resistant and a step up from polycarbonate; Trivex lenses. They also provide the option to tint lenses to your preference in their normal and sunglasses. They even offer ‘Blokz’ harmful blue light, LED and fluorescent blocking lenses for those who may be stuck staring at a computer all day or most of society who has their eyeballs glued to a phone screen 24/7. These prevent “FryEye” and can save your eyes from being tired, dry, blurry and irritated- in prescription and non-prescription lenses.

As far as prescriptions go, they can fill any strength and variation of prescription lenses just as your eye doctor would. They have a whole list of FAQ that can help you easily access all your information and make sure you get exactly what you need!

Whether it’s just for fun fashion accessories, readers, or your next pair of daily eyewear- Zenni has got you and your eyes covered. There really is not a more affordable or easy to use option out there! You can even send a glasses fanatic friend or sister a gift card for Zenni via the site as a unique, treat yourself gift! There’s no excuse not to upgrade, with prices like this and options these vast- you are destined to find a flattering pair of glasses that you will love to love!
