5 Romantic Books to Read During the Season of Love

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MNSU chapter.

FROM SAND AND ASH by Amy Harmon

“As children, Eva Rosselli and Angelo Bianco were raised like family but divided by circumstance and religion. As the years go by, the two find themselves falling in love. But the church calls to Angelo and, despite his deep feelings for Eva, he chooses the priesthood…”

Why it’s on my list: It’s set during World War II and the synopsis is pretty deep.

THE LADY OF THE LAKES: THE TRUE LOVE STORY OF SIR WALTER SCOTT by Josi S. Kilpack

“One is his first love. The other is his best love. Which will be Walter’s true love?”

Why it’s on my list: It’s supposed to be about Sir Walter Scott – call me “curious.”

IT ENDS WITH US by Colleen Hoover

“…With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price”.

Why it’s on my list: It won the Goodreads Choice Awards Romance section, I just want to know why.

GRIN AND BEARD IT by Penny Reid

“…Sienna is accustomed to high levels of man-handsome, so it’s not Jethro’s chiseled features or his perfect physique that make Sienna stutter. It’s his southern charm. And gentlemanly manners. And habit of looking at her too long and too often”.

Why it’s on my list: The bearded face on the cover. Duh

DEVIL IN SPRING by Lisa Kleypas

“…Most debutantes dream of finding a husband. Lady Pandora Ravenel has different plans. The ambitious young beauty would much rather stay at home and plot out her new board game business than take part in the London Season. But one night at a glittering society ball, she’s ensnared in a scandal with a wickedly handsome stranger”.

Why it’s on my list: It’s a well known fact that historical romance is a special type of romance altogether.
