Top 5 Stores You Need To Visit In NYC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MMM chapter.

New York City is known for a lot of things, shopping being one of the most famous. From department stores to indie boutiques, the city truly has so many shops to visit. Since I myself am easily able to spend a Saturday window shopping, I wanted to share my top 5 must-see stores in Manhattan. These spaces are the perfect places to see if you want to check out some new spots in the city, so have a read!

Glossier

The Instagram-famous makeup and skincare brand’s flagship store is based in NYC, and it’s worth waiting in line to visit. Located on 123 Lafayette Street, this aesthetically pleasing showroom is filled with beauty, makeup, skincare, interior inspiration, and photo opportunities.

Mejuri

Based in Toronto with a flagship store in NYC (plus a newly opened one in LA), Mejuri is a brand that makes fine jewelry that’ll be a staple in your collection. Located on 43 Spring Street, the store displays its pieces in a very minimalistic way, which fits the brand’s overall chill vibe.

Broadway Market Co.

Located on 427 Broadway, Broadway Market Co. is a space where local artisans and businesses show their creations. Mostly filled with jewelry brands and clothing, with other such as a candle business in the mix, this is such a fun way to find new and unique pieces while also supporting local businesses.

Shakespeare & Co.

I’ve written about this cafe/book shop in a previous article, but I love it so much that I felt it deserves another mention. Based at 68th Street on Lexington avenue, this bookstore is the perfect place to go on a rainy day. Filled with a wide variety of genres in addition to having the newest releases, this shop is the perfect place to get homework done or relax with a cup of coffee (or tea) and a good book.

Byredo

I never thought I’d love a perfume store as much as I love Byredo’s. Located on 62 Wooster Street, this store will fulfill all of your neutral aesthetic dreams. With minimalist interiors, open space, chill music and an array of scents that subtly blend together throughout the store, this is a must-visit spot if you’re looking to escape the hustle-bustle of SoHo.

There are so many unique stores to visit in NYC, and with the holidays fast approaching now is the perfect time to go! If you visit any of the stores mentioned, make sure to take pictures and tag us on social media @hercampusmmm!
