Spotlight on Taylor Swift: Evolution of the Singing Superstar

Taylor Swift is a woman of many talents. She’s a singer, songwriter, musician, philanthropist, cover girl, and occasional makes on camera appearances as an actress. She recently released her newest album, 1989. The singing superstar has four other albums out: Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now and Red. Swifts instrument talents include: vocals, guitar, piano, banjo and ukulele. She has won seven Grammy Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, eleven Country Music Association Awards, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, and many more. She was honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She frequently sings about fairytales, love, magical life experiences and growth as an individual during her stages of life. She enjoys baking and her favorite number is 13. She is an inspiration to women. The beauty is known for her signature red lipstick, classy behavior, conservative glamorous style and love of all things cozy and cats.

Swift moved to Tennessee as a teenager to pursue her career in country music. She signed with the label Big Machine Records, where she became the youngest songwriter ever hired by the Sony/ATV Music Publishing House. Swift released her first album, self-titled, ‘Taylor Swift’ in 2006. Her song titled ‘Our Song’ made her the youngest person to write and perform a number one song on the Hot Country Songs chart. Taylor’s second album, ‘Fearless’ was released to much success in 2008. It became the bestselling album of 2009 and won four Grammy awards. Her third album, ‘Speak Now’, sold over one million copies within the first week of its release in the United States. In 2012 she released her album, ‘Red’. This album also sold over a million copies during its first week and many of the tracks became worldwide hits. Her fifth album, 1989 just released and sold more copies in its opening week than any other album in the last twelve years. With this addition, Swift became the first and only performer to have three albums sell more than one million copies in a week. On her newest album, the songs ‘Shake It Off’ and ‘Blank Space’ have reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

Taylor Swift has sold over 30 million albums and 80 million digital single downloads. On top of her extraordinary accomplishments in the film industry, she remains a positive role model for people everywhere. Her songs are appropriate for any age and contain good messages. She’s also had some acting roles in: Valentine’s Day, The Lorax and The Giver. On top of this all, she donates and supports charities such as: Arts Education, Children’s Literacy, Natural Disaster Relief, LGBT anti-discrimination efforts and charities that help children who are ill. The superstar has her own fragrances, was the face of Cover Girl cosmetics, does ads for Keds shoes and Diet Coke, and even partnered with Taylor Brand Guitars to create a special edition Taylor Swift Taylor Brand Guitar. She has a partnership with Sony Electronics and American Greetings, for her cards. For the last two years in a row, she has been one of the performers at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

For every problem in life, there is a solution in a Taylor Swift song. No matter what, always remember what Taylor has sang and taught us, such as; “You’re beautiful, every little piece love.” Taylor, the world was Enchanted to meet you!
