With the arrival of the spring season, our minds automatically shift towards the idea of warm weather and the changes that it brings. Changes in hairstyle or color, our wardrobe, and even makeup products come hand-in-hand with the new season. Soon we can finally put away our snow boots and take out our Birkenstocks, switch out the sweaters for sundresses, and substitute the heavy, dark makeup for lighter, more natural looks. In the spring and summer, I prefer wearing minimal makeup as my skin gets tan and less dry!
It’s funny how these “no makeup looks” usually require a ridiculous number of products and seriously damage your wallet. If you’re looking for a simple look to tackle your day of school, interning, or working, this routine can help you achieve this in ten minutes or less!

This serum is a miracle worker for the mornings you’re running on minimal sleep. Although it is a serum, it has a water-like texture that immediately absorbs into your skin. Its ingredients like Vitamin C and Magnesium refresh and energize your skin to achieve that “natural glow” look that people will compliment you on all day long! Use this serum after cleanser and before moisturizer.
2. CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, $9.99 at Target
This moisturizer is perfect for any time of the day. Its consistency is light enough where it absorbs into your skin and doesn’t leave you with that greasy feeling. My dermatologist recommended this moisturizer to tackle my dry skin, while hydrating it to relieve and prevent redness. Always make sure to moisturize in the morning and before you go to sleep at night!
3. Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara, $23 at Sephora
This unique mascara is inspired by the curves of a woman’s body. Its hourglass-shaped brush has stiff bristles to maximize the dramatic effect it offers. With just one coat, your lashes look full and defined. Two coats will make your lashes more curled and dramatic.
4. Maybelline Face Studio Master Contour Stick, $7.99 at Target
This highlight and contour stick is perfect for beginners and multitaskers. Available in three shades—light, medium, and deep—this stick will highlight the areas of your face that need to be brightened and darken the edges you’d like to give definition to. Use the lighter sides to conceal under your eyes, the middle of your forehead, and anywhere else you’d like to brighten with light to medium coverage.
5. Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer, $14.99 at Ulta
If you’re looking for a fresh tropical glow but your wallet won’t allow you to take a trip to the islands, this bronzer is for you! Physician’s Formula created a bronzer infused with Murumuru Butter with a super soft texture and a delightful smell. Use a brush to glide some of this bronzer along the contoured parts of your face. This bronzer will brighten your skin tone and deliver a gorgeous bronze finish without creating harsh lines over your contour!
6. Glossier Haloscope, $22 at Glossier.com
Glossier is known for prioritizing proper skin care first, and makeup second. This highlighter called Haloscope (available in three shades) is the world’s first dew effect highlighter. 7. Glossier Cloud Paint, $18 at Glossier.com
This is one of Glossier’s newest products. Cloud Paint is a fool-proof liquid blush with a gel-cream formula. If you can finger paint, this product is perfect for you! Simply dab the paint onto your cheeks. It’s sheer and buildable and VERY hard to mess up. Offered in four shades, each one is targeted to the preferences and skin tones of any type. My personal favorite shade is Dusk, which is a darker pink/nude shade. This shade is perfectly subtle, but if you are looking for more color on your cheeks, try Beam, Puff, or Haze!
8. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen in Honey, $24 at Sephora
This is Sephora’s bestselling lip treatment that moisturizes, protects, and smooths your lips—all while applying the shade of your choice! Honey is my go-to shade, a neutral brown that anyone can pull off. Honey is closest to my natural lip color so it leaves my lips looking naturally colorful, even, and moisturized!
These products help me achieve my everyday look as I take on my days at school and work. It allows me to leave the house feeling glammed, using minimal products, and allows my face to breathe.
