Let’s start simple! Tell us your name, age, year, and hometown.Lauren Kelson, 19, sophomore, Midway, UT :)
How do you feel about being Campus Cutie this week?!Great! I am so flattered! I haven’t been featured in anything like this before so it’s pretty cool.
Do you have a favorite spot on campus?I love the terrace when it’s warmer in the city, but since going outside isn’t much of an option right now, I like to hang out in between the bookshelves in the lower level of the library.
Have you had a favorite moment at MMC so far?I really enjoy Apple Fest and Strawberry Fest! Even though I know that’s not necessarily a single moment, I think it counts. It’s one of the only times that our student body can all be together and I think that that’s just a great time to be at MMC.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten?Oh boy. In five years, I would have liked to have finished grad school and have traveled a little bit around the world, performing if I can. In ten years, I would have loved to have set up a couple art/dance therapy institutes all over in places like India, Haiti, parts of Africa, etc. Ambitious, I know, but hey, a girl can dream, right?
Tell us something people don’t know about you!I’m a reader and people know that but I don’t know that they know how huge of a reader I am. I try to read at least two to three books a month for fun and if I can’t find one to read, I reread Wuthering Heights because it’s my favorite. I have an addiction.
Quick Questions:Who is your celebrity crush? Benedict Cumberbatch. He’s just perfect. You can’t beat a gentleman, though Lee Pace is a close second.Favorite class at MMC so far: Somatic Awareness with Catherine Cabeen. I recommend it to anyone.Go-to Starbucks order: Iced Grande Chai with VanillaNYC hangout: The Strand Bookstore or Central ParkMovie: I have so many favorites but the Goonies will always have a special place in my heart.Song at the moment: “Shot at the Night” by the Killers. Anything by the Killers, really, but I love that song.
