Last night (Feb. 7) Super Bowl 50 showcased some amazing performances — and we’re not talking about Football (sorry!)
Lady Gaga kicked off the event by singing a beautiful rendition of the national anthem. With slicked back hair and glittery-red eye shadow, she rocked a conservative, but still super-Gaga, custom Gucci pant suit. From the vocals to her look, she killed it across the board.
Being the main halftime show performer is an honor but having just one act is definitely not enough. Headliners Coldplay were joined by Beyoncé and Bruno Mars and their twelve minute concert left millions of viewers inspired, in awe, and truly entertained.
Coldplay started off with their 2000 hit “Yellow”, moved into “Viva La Vida,” and then seamlessly transitioned into “Paradise.” Their set featured lots of infectious bouncing, vibrant colors, and violins.
Beyoncé marched out onto the field performing her newest single “Formation” and obviously she slayed. Her black leather and gold embellished halftime outfit paid tribute to Michael Jackson’s 1993 Super Bowl performance — love.
Bruno Mars slid into the spotlight performing his massive smash hit “Uptown Funk” and even went into a little dance-sing battle with Queen B.
In the end, the trio of pop royalty saluted many music legends and past Super Bowl halftime show performers. It was indeed a mix of past, present and future musical triumphs that have cast an imprint on our pop culture that will last forever.
