Hunter Lutes ’16

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MMM chapter.
You’ve definitely seen this cutie around school (his bright red hair is kinda hard to miss!) Hunter Lutes is fashion loving, NYC obsessed, and incredibly ambitious. Read more about this cutie in our Q and A below!

Let’s start off simple; tell us your name, year, and hometown.
Hunter Lutes, Junior, Ft Lauderdale, FL

How do you feel about being MMC’s Campus cutie this week?!
Feels Great! Nothing wrong with being called a cutie (insert winky emoji).

What’d made you choose MMC? Why did you come back?
I choose MMC for its small class sizes and hands on approach to learning. I think the school is going through a lot of changes right now and theres so many new opportunities offered at the school. My sophomore year I changed my major and that was one of the reasons I ultimately came back. Also because of the new fashion marketing concentration offered under the business program.

Do you have any advice for the freshmen that just started school?
Don’t force yourself to do anything; always pursue something in college that you care about and that you can see yourself doing as a career. A lot of things will change along the ride and its important to focus on yourself and what goals you want to succeed in. Other than that, make friends and be social and explore the great city we’re so lucky to be in; there are endless opportunities here so always do as much as you can.

Fave spot on campus?
The 3rd floor library in Nugent.

Have you had any super cool jobs and/or internships during your time at MMC?
Yes in the past three years I’ve worked at Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior, Barneys and now I’m currently working at Alexander Wang in Soho.

What does the future look like for you? Five years? Ten?
In five years, hopefully sooner, I’ll have my own office helping the global direction of retail and marketing for a company in the luxury fashion industry. I’d like to move out west for a year or two and see how I like it; maybe L.A or San Francisco. In ten years? Maybe I’ll move to Germany and explore that chapter of my life. Im a very fly by the seat of my pants type of person so the future is never in stone.

What’s been your favorite memory here at MMC?
My favorite memory here at MMC was meeting one my best friends whom I nicknamed “Rue” at the time. Later I found out her name was Alexis and she’s become such a special part of my life ever since. My other best friends Jasmin and Melody have shared so many favorite memories with me I cant even remember them all to share; I love them all so much.

Tell us something that people don’t know about you!
Something people don’t know how about me is that Im obsessed with diet coke and sour patch kids although its not that hard find out!
