Beauty and Skincare are some of us ladies’ favorite things, and there are so many brands and products out there. Over this past summer I worked at a high-end spa and here are some of the tips and tricks I learned! Of course these brands and products are much more budget friendly and are all under $25!
The first step to skincare is knowing which skin “type” you have: oily, combination, dry, normal, or sensitive. There are many quizzes online to help you determine your type, or you can go to any local store with skincare products and talk to an expert. I suggest Sephora, Bluemercury, or Ulta Beauty. Check out this online quiz, it follows along with a very expensive skincare brand, but it gives great answers and information on your skin type!

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% works for every skin type and takes care of most skin related issues: but is focused on acne and redness. This serum is by The Ordinary. The Ordinary has lots of serums that can help any skin type. The “molecule” or serum Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is one of the most highly recommended for all skin types. They also carry many others to check out on their website!

Bioderma Sensibio H2O is best for sensitive skin. Taking our makeup off at the end of a long day is one of the most satisfying feelings ever! But, if all of your makeup does not come off then what are we paying for? This makeup remover is the best I have found and it is at such a good price, you can’t beat it! Bioderma has makeup removers for all my pals with sensitive skin, but it can be used by all skin types. It is a water based makeup remover so if your skin is oily it will add more hydration as well as cleansing.

Milky Jelly Cleanser by Glossier (my absolute favorite brand) is a cleanser which works with five skin conditioners to create glowy and soft skin. This is perfect to wake you up in the morning or can be a great nightly routine. Great for taking off foundation and most makeup, but does not get all mascara and eyeliner off. This will get your skin feeling glorious and ready for the day for only $18, and boy does it last!

Priming Moisturizer from Glossier brings the best out of your skin. It adds hydration and brings a glow to your skin and primes to get ready for the fierce look you want to wear! The primer is filled with an anti-redness component to even out your skin and create a beautiful base. This is perfect for all skin types!

Balm Dot Com by Glossier is an incredible lip balm that also doubles as a skin salve. It can be used if you have dry skin in any area. But, because they are only sold in such small packages I suggest that lips and hands are the best areas for Balm Dot Com. Great for gaining hydration to your lips for the winter and conditioning your lips for a soft feel. Balm Dot Com comes in six scents/flavors: Original, Birthday, Rose, Cherry, Mint, and Coconut.

Purity Made Simple by Philosophy is a cleanser that is reported to get every speck of makeup off your face and I agree that it lives up to its expectations. This cleanser is perfect if you want an all in one makeup remover and pore cleanser. Great for all skin types and it begins to tone and tighten skin as well as hydrate your pores.

Rose Facial Spray by Mario Badescu is a staple in any beauty routine. This spray is a refreshing boost to any skincare because it gives a layer of hydration when skin feels dry or uncomfortable. Clarifying Lotion 1.0 Twice a Day Exfoliator by Clinique is an alcohol free exfoliator meant for all skin types to reduce unevenness in skin and minimize redness. Best results if used twice a day applied after cleansing with a cotton ball. Exfoliation is recommended by estheticians up to twice a day and can reduce any acne and redness by taking all dirt and excess oil from skin.

Hero Salve by Milk Makeup is perfect for those of us out there suffering from dry skin. As winter is approaching we could all benefit from some hydration. Hero Salve works wonders for the lips, face, and body by using natural shea butter and oils to deeply hydrate the skin. This is great for elbows, cuticles or any area that is in need of hydration. Hero Salve is a thick moisturizer and can be heavy on more sensitive skin, so test before purchasing!
