Everyone loves to listen to music while they commute, exercise, or basically while doing anything. However, something that really makes time fly and is becoming all the craze is podcasts! It’s basically television for you ears, and who doesn’t love to binge watch (or in this case binge listen). This list is here for those of you are in need of a little podcast guidance, or for the experts like myself who are just looking for a new obsession.
1. My Favorite Murder
Georgia Hardstark and Karen Killgariff are people who love murder and just happen to be comedians! This podcast is like listening to two of your best friends talk true crime, it has just the right amount of humor mixed with grisly tales. An odd combination, I know, but trust me this is one podcast that will actually have you laughing out loud.
2. Mother May I Sleep with Podcast?
Molly MacAleer hosts this genius and hilarious podcast where her and one friend watch Lifetime movies then discuss the entire scene by scene. With audio from the actual movie scattered throughout, it is a rip roaring ride listening to people discuss the lunacy of Lifetime.
3. S-Town
New from the team behind Serial (also on this list), Brian Reed travels to Alabama home of John B. Macklemore and what unfolds is a mystery and tragedy of great measure. If twists and turns are you desire then this podcast is for you! Plus this is the one EVERYONE is talking about so you better jump on it!
4. 2 Dope Queens
Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson host this enormously popular comedy podcast. No topic is off limits and listening to these two friends is comedy gold!
5. Anna Faris is Unqualified
If you are looking for star power look no further than this podcast! Her guests have ranged from Allison Janney to RuPaul to Jennifer Lawrence calling in from set. Anna completes each episode with two fans who have called in asking for advice. A light hearted and very funny podcast is the perfect medicine sometimes and Anna Faris’s podcast is just that!
6. With Friends Like These
The only political podcast that doesn’t make me wanna cry, this podcast sits down with two people from different sides of the aisle to discuss current political issues with one major rule: no yelling! A great and fascinating listen for anyone who loves to discuss politics and keeps asking themselves “why?”
7. Serial
This is the podcast that got the trend started. This one right here put podcasts on the map and for good reason. Sarah Koenig is brilliant and while the second season is just meh, the first season is amazing! All the twists and turns of a great mystery movie only it’s real life. Prep for season 3 by binging the first two seasons you won’t regret it.
