As an avid Saturday Night Live fan, I’ve seen my fair share of Halloween sketches. The show has been around for 45 seasons, and during each season they dedicate one episode to Halloween. As it goes with SNL, some of these sketches are boring, some are cringey, and some are downright hilarious, so I’ve narrowed them all down into a list with only the best. Here are the top 6, must-watch Halloween sketches.

Weekend Update: Garth and Kat Sing Halloween Songs

Garth and Kat are some of the silliest, most ridiculous recurring characters on SNL and their sketches never fail to make me laugh. This sketch is so funny Fred Armisen broke character about ten times from laughing too hard.

Chad Horror Movie

Chad is hands down Pete Davidson’s best character—combine that with John Mulaney and you get this hilarious sketch.

A Girl’s Halloween

Vanessa Bayer calmly reapplying lipstick while Aidy Brant fights Cecily Strong two feet away from her is reason enough to watch this sketch

Weekend Update: Stefon on Halloween’s Hottest Tips

All Stefon sketches are hilariously strange and this one is no exception.

Wes Anderson Horror Trailer

Everything about this sketch is perfect from the paper airplane threat to the two precocious children and their weapons.

David S. Pumpkins

The sketch is complete and utter nonsense in the best possible way. If you haven’t already seen this sketch, pull it up on YouTube right now and you will not regret it.

These six are the best spooky sketches that SNL has aired so far, but there are probably many more to come and hopefully there will be at least a few more that I can add to this list once they do.
