This year’s ‘parade of nations’ (during the 2012 Summer Olympic Opening Ceremonies) did not disappoint! Fashion-wise, there were some clear winners:
San Marino
San Marino kept it fashion-forward with classic suits for the guys and clean, white dresses for the girls. Who says you have to dress everyone alike?
Australia
How sharp is this look? We love the contrast of dark hunter green with clean white pants/skirts. The accents of gold in their stitching, ties, and scarves pulled it all together!
Bermuda
We’d be disappointed if Bermuda didn’t rock shorts that are named after them. Love ’em or hate ’em – seeing Bermuda wearing Bermuda shorts just feels right.
Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands were looking FRESH. Fedoras were clearly trending during this parade, and The Cayman Islands got the memo. Which brings us to….
The United States
You could say the same things about this USA look that you can about Australia. It’s patriotic and sophisticated. But, berets? Really? The USA could’ve taken a page from Cayman’s book and rocked trendy fedoras instead.
The biggest loser of the night?
Czech Republic
Whew, this is rough. Cosmic leggings and bright, shiny rainboots do not make a very good impression for a country.
The polarizing wild card?
Great Britain
While some are putting Great Britain on the ‘worst dressed’ list for the awkward armpit patch, others appreciate the clear homage to what everyone’s after: a gold medal.
What do you think of Great Britain’s look, collegiettes? Which look is your favorite/least favorite? Did we leave any stellar looks out? Let us know in the comment box below!
