Even though the nine inches of snow are piled up on your front porch, fashionistas like you should keep in mind that spring is right around the corner! So be prepared to spare some extra space in your closet because Her Campus Mizzou is here to show you three major spring trends, along with an exclusive sneak peek of Belle Boutique’s latest pieces.

1. Lace Embrace
Yes, the latest trend and runway designs have been showing us how to transform Grandma’s window curtains into excellent fashion. Now is the time for you to turn lace from the co-star of your dress into the dress itself! Of course, not everyone could pull off an all-lace, Dolce & Gabbana outfit like Anna Dello Russo (below), Editor-at-Large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan.

You can, however, try incorporating the idea little by little; Belle’s version of a lace dress, $34 (below), by Natalia is subtler and more wearable.

Below, Kate Bosworth rocks the lace one-piece.

2. Man Up
Military is still in — and like other trends that have been around for multiple seasons, it has inevitably evolved. We’re not just looking at the shoulder-padded design like the Balmain military jacket, sported by celebs below, anymore.

Instead, a sleek, minimal blazer with a touch of masculinity is enough for a chic androgynous look. Belle’s well-fitted Janet blazer , $43 (below), would be a great option.

3. Asymmetry
Celebrities have been flaunting their shoulders on the red carpet for a while, and now it’s your turn! Remember, you don’t need 42-inch long legs like Megan Fox, in Roberto Cavalli below, to pull off the one-shoulder dress; the asymmetric cut flatters any body type. Do be aware that if you happen to have wider shoulders, stick to classic black and avoid the excess details.

Belle’s simple yet elegant one-shoulder Liliana dress, $17 (below), is our favorite LBD for the season and won’t even make a dent in your checkbook!
