Brisk temperatures are upon us, with that comes dry skin that craves some TLC. Naturally, I have dry skin, so when fall and winter come around I amp up my skin care products. Having a strong line of products in your routine is what will defend your skin when the winter winds roll around.

Clinque Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

I religiously use face moisturizer all year long. I have found that a staple face lotion is the key to having a good skin base. My OG face lotion is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. Clinique was the first makeup brand I experimented with as a teenager. It is great for sensitive skin and is reasonably priced for the quality. This product leaves my skin feeling instantly hydrated and smooth. It’s my favorite because it seriously counteracts dry patches which appear around my mouth and chin. It retails at $14.50 for 1.7 fluid ounces or $27.00 for 4.2 fluid ounces. The bigger bottle typically lasts for 8 months depending on how much you use per day. Overall it’s an excellent investment if you have dry and sensitive skin.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask and Pond’s Dry Skin Cream

Every couple months I switch up my products so my skin doesn’t get used to the main ones on rotation. I like to work in a hydrating face mask, about once a week to keep my skin quenched. Kiehl’s makes my favorite called, “Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask,” for $16.00– highly recommend. I also switch up my face lotion. My alternative is the Pond’s Brand, “Dry Skin Cream.” You can find this product at Target, Walmart, CVS or Walgreens. Target sells this product at $7.00 for the 10.0 ounce size. This cream ison the thicker side so I typically use it at night opposed to the morning unless I’m feeling really dry.

Mario Badescu Rose Water

Lastly, have you heard of a little thing called rose water? If not I highly recommend you try it out. Rose water helps hydrate and revitalize the skin giving it that refreshed look. That is why I always have a bottle on my shelf. The antioxidant properties in this magic potion help strengthen skin cells and regenerate skin tissues. Amazon carries the Mario Badescu Facial Spray for $7.00. If you feel compelled to splurge more, I recommend Jurlique Rose Water Balancing Mist. It retails off Amazon at $18.00 for 3.3 fluid ounces.

My final thought, and possibly the most important, is not to forget to drink your H2O! Not only is this your cheapest option to combat the cold, it’s also the most effective! So stock up on your water supply and try out a few of these products, and you’ll be saying goodbye to winter dryness!
