Mizzou football kicks off the new SEC season with a win

University of Missouri Tiger fans raise their hands before kick-off at Saturday’s game against Southeastern Louisiana. Missouri won the season opener 62-10.


 

 Brooke Haile-Mariam and Hannah Bland attend the Missouri-Southeastern Louisiana football game decoratively dressed in support of Mizzou. The victorious home opener on Saturday September 1 was MU’s first game as a member of the Southeastern Conference.

 Fans prepared for the the Saturday’s rainy forecast with rain-boots and ponchos. 

 

 Roshaunda McLean and Latrice England cheer on the Missouri Tigers during the first quarter at Faurot Field. The Tigers scored four touchdowns within the first eight minutes.

 As rain started to fall during the second quarter, juniors at University of Missouri Molly Goldberg and Sarosh Moheet shared a poncho. The rain did not affect the MU’s game, as they swamped Southeastern Louisiana in a 62-10 victory. 

 

Brooke Hofer is a senior at the University of Missouri. She is majoring in Strategic Communications through the School of Journalism while also pursuing minors in Classics, Psychology and a general Honors degree. In addition to writing for Her Campus, Brooke is an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority (Epsilon Iota chapter), Vice President of Sigma Alpha Pi, and she is a barista in the Columbia, Missouri area. Brooke loves working out, writing short stories, reading old books, and spending time with her family and friends in Kansas City. She hopes to eventually travel the world while working in the advertising or public relations industry.
