The Her Campus Mizzou staff is made up of over 30 awesome women who work together to maintain the site you know and love! Our staff members have a wide range of interests, come from all grade levels, are involved in tons of different activities across campus, and have had some incredible internships. Lindsay Roseman – Campus Correspondent
Lindsay is a senior magazine journalism major and Spanish minor from the north suburbs of Chicago. She has been a part of Her Campus Mizzou since it first launched in September 2010 and has loved every second of it! On campus she is also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and serves as an ambassador for the Journalism School. In her free time she loves reading magazines, running, trying new desserts and going to see movies. Lindsay spent this past summer interning in New York City at Women’s Health magazine, and winter break at Seventeen magazine. She can’t wait to head back to the Big Apple after graduation!
Maggie Niemiec – Features Editor
Maggie is a senior magazine journalism and psychology dual major. She’s originally from Homer Glen, Ill., a suburb southwest of Chicago. She has been on staff with Her Campus Mizzou since its founding. Maggie was a features intern at Marie Claire this winter and participated in the incredibly selective American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) Internship Program this past summer. She worked at Ladies’ Home Journal in New York City and absolutely loved it. She plans to return to the Big Apple upon graduation to work at a women’s magazine. A few of her favorite things include cappuccinos, puppies and Downton Abbey.
Alaina Lancaster – Campus Cutie and Campus Celebrity Editor
Alaina is a freshman journalism major, from Spring Grove, Ill. She enjoys spending time with her spunky roommate, her Penthouse floor mates in Hatch Nasty and Ryan Gosling. Living only five minutes away from the border of Wisconsin, she appreciates a good cheese. Her current dream is to study abroad somewhere completely different from the rural town of Spring Grove. During the summer she works at an old-fashioned drive-in called Dog ‘n’ Suds. She recently adopted an adorably ugly puppy named Mr. Max. After graduation, she hopes to travel the world telling stories for the voiceless.
Rachel English – Photo Editor
Rachel is a junior photojournalism major originally from Fairway, Kan. Along with Her Campus, Rachel is involved in the Kappa Alpha Theta women’s fraternity. Her favorite thing to do in Columbia is go tailgating for a Missouri football game. Rachel loves to play tennis, watch Mad Men and read magazines such as Vogue and National Geographic in her spare time.
Allie Duncan- Publicity Director
Allie is a junior in the School of Journalism. She is specializing in strategic communication, while also pursuing a textile and apparel management minor. In addition to being the Her Campus Mizzou Publicity Director, Allie is a member of Kappa Delta sorority, a national contributing writer for Her Campus, a campus representative/intern for Akira Chicago, a contributing writer for Chicago-Scene magazine and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. She spent summer 2011 as an intern at both Vogue magazine and Michele Marie PR in New York City. A Chicago native, Allie enjoys shopping, reality television, cupcakes, expensive shoes and reading magazines. She hopes to eventually land a job in fashion public relations while living in New York City or Chicago.
Caitlin Miller – Event Coordinator
Caitlin is a senior magazine journalism major with minors in both textile and apparel management and business. She is originally from Joplin, Mo., and has been on the Her Campus Mizzou staff since the second semester of its founding year. As well as planning events for Her Campus Mizzou, she takes pictures and writes whenever she can. She especially loves photography and tries to bring her camera with her everywhere. Caitlin hopes to pursue a career in the fashion magazine industry and even interned with a jewelry designer in New York City during the 2010 summer. Her dream is to move to New York and work as the creative director for favorite magazine, Teen Vogue. In her free time, she flips through the pages of her favorite magazines such as Esquire, Vogue, and ELLE. In addition to having a passion for magazines, Caitlin is also a movie fanatic. A fun fact about Caitlin: She watches a movie every night before she goes to sleep!
Allison Goldberg – Event Coordinator/Contributing Writer
Allison is a sophomore majoring in journalism, specifically strategic communication, and psychology. Aside from her involvement with Her Campus, she is Mizzou’s Rent the Runway representative and serves on the philanthropy committee for her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha. She’s a city girl from Chicago who loves trying new things and going on adventures. When she’s not studying, she enjoys spending time with friends, shopping, reading magazines and watching old movies. Her guilty pleasure is fries dipped in a chocolate milkshake.
Katie Niemiec – Event Coordinator/Contributing Writer
Katie is a sophomore journalism major with an emphasis in strategic communication and a minor in textile and apparel management. This is her fourth semester writing and planning events for Her Campus Mizzou. Along with contributing to Her Campus Mizzou, she is a campus representative for Rent the Runway, a member of the Association of Textile and Apparel Management club. She runs her own blog, Little Black Blog, which she frequently updates with fashion news. She works at the front desk at the Rec and works retail at The Gap back home in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking in Columbia, dancing at the Columbia Performing Arts Center, catching up on fashion magazines and blogs, or just relaxing and watching a good movie. In the future, she hopes to stay in Chicago or move to Los Angeles and work for a fashion stylist or for a PR firm.
Caroline Michler – Contributing Writer
Caroline is a sophomore studying magazine journalism, and this is her first year on staff. In addition to HCM, she is a part of Magazine Club. She is also a zouLIFE Specialist at MizzouRec. She is from St. Louis and likes to visit often. Caroline is obsessed with Pinterest, funny animals, anything black and white and old movies. In her free time, she likes to shop, read, Skype her boyfriend, blog and work out. Her favorite shows are Chelsea Lately and Modern Family. She’s spent many summers as a camp counselor extraordinaire and beach lover. She’s been drinking coffee since she was a toddler, and she’ll take a tall skinny caramel latte.
Connie McCollom – Staff Photographer
Connie is a junior majoring in photojournalism with a minor in psychology. She is from St. Louis, but was originally born in Tulsa, Okla. Connie worked as a photography intern at the St. Louis Beacon and as a reporter for the Columbia Missourian. Presently, she is a photographer for Her Campus Mizzou. She also works as an exam proctor for the University of Missouri’s Disability Testing Services. She loves traveling, photography, chai tea and many different types of music.
Brooke Hofer – Contributing Writer
Brooke is a sophomore majoring in journalism, specifically strategic communication, and is pursuing a dual degree in classics, as well as a general honors degree. In addition to writing for the national Her Campus and Her Campus Mizzou, Brooke is an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and she is a barista at Lakota Coffee. Brooke loves working out, writing, watching Mad Men or Keeping Up With the Kardashians, reading old books and spending time with her family and friends in Kansas City, Mo. and Chicago. She hopes to eventually travel the world while working in the advertising or public relations industry.
Kristyl Hawkins – Contributing Writer
Kristyl is sophomore from Plano, Texas. She is a journalism major with a psychology minor. In addition to writing for Her Campus Mizzou for her second year, she also writes and designs for The Maneater. Kristyl enjoys singing and is a member of Mizzou’s Concert Chorale choir. Her other interests include dancing, watching Revenge and reading books by Jodi Picoult. After graduation she would like to work for a major magazine or a public relations firm.
Liz Stratman – Contributing Writer
Liz is a sophomore studying journalism and Spanish. She is from the small town of Gretna, Neb., and she took a huge leap by attending such a large university. Liz couldn’t be happier with her decision to come to Mizzou. After being the editor for her high school newspaper, she got involved with The Maneater student newspaper and NATION Magazine for the Mizzou Rec Complex. This past summer she interned at her hometown newspaper, The Gretna Guide, and served as an editorial intern for Omaha Magazine over the holiday break. Liz will work at Union Pacific Railroad as a corporate communications intern this summer. She has been a dancer all of her life and currently teaches fitness and dance classes for Mizzou Rec. She enjoys hanging out with friends, dancing, writing, designing and taking photographs. One day she hopes to write for a well-known fashion or fitness magazine.
Caroline Federer – Contributing Writer
Caroline, a Chicago native, is a freshman majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor in textile and apparel management. On campus she is a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, a part of Mizzou’s student run news station, MUTV’s The Prowl, and is a member of the Textile and Apparel Management Club. She hopes to study abroad at least twice in her college career because she loves traveling. She hope to work for a fashion magazine such as Marie Claire or Glamour, or be a fashion or beauty correspondent for The Today Show. Ballroom dancing and volleyball are her absolute favorite activities to do in her free time.

Sarah Harmening – Contributing Writer
Sarah is a freshman majoring in journalism with a minor in Spanish. She was the opinion and editorial editor of her high-school newspaper. She was also a member of the golf team and still enjoys golfing. Sarah hopes to study abroad in Spain and become fluent in Spanish. Her dream is to someday intern in New York City and live there for a while, but her home will always be Chicago. When she’s not fawning over Vogue, ELLE and Cosmo, she’s spending time with her friends while fawning over Vogue, ELLE and Cosmo.
Beth Steffens – Contributing Writer
Beth is a sophomore Journalism and Spanish major from Festus, Mo. She is a member of Alpha Phi Omega, the national service fraternity. She loves volunteering and lending a helping hand to others. She works in the department of biochemistry as a receptionist and is the social media and newsletter guru. She plans to study abroad spring 2013 in Spain. Meeting people from different cultures is one of her favorite things about college. In her free time, she likes to read, go to Mizzou games, do anything outdoors and bargain shop (her greatest talent). She hopes to work at a major sports, lifestyle or travel magazine after she finishes school.
Stephanie Graflage – Contributing Writer
Stephanie is a sophomore magazine journalism and business student. She is from St. Louis. In addition to writing for Her Campus, Stephanie is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She also loves spending time with her friends, dancing and attending sporting events. Among her favorite things are designing t-shirts, watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians and spending time outside.
Clare Ngai – Contributing Writer
Clare is a junior magazine journalism student. She is pursuing minors in French and psychology. Born and raised in Hong Kong, her heart belongs to the big cities, and she aspires to work in New York City after college. She loves anything and everything that has to do with fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Her style mentor is Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City; she is also inspired by celebrities like Olivia Palermo, the Olsen twins, Kate Moss and Alexa Chung. Abbey Theban – Contributing Writer
Abbey is a first-year journalism major from Tulsa, Okla. When she isn’t tweeting, working out or doing schoolwork (of course), she can be seen around campus with her camera. She is very passionate about photography and has even won awards for some of her pictures. Last year she interned at TulsaPeople magazine and was on her high school’s yearbook staff. She comes from an Italian family who loves food just as much as she does. Her comfort food is SpaghettiOs – but only the kind with meatballs. She is a member of the Alpha Phi sorority and hopes to get involved in many other organizations on campus. In the future, Abbey would love to travel around the world, own a pet tiger like Mike Tyson and maybe even write a book.
Katie Lally – Contributing Writer
Katie is a sophomore strategic communication major. After seeing Lance Bass in the film On the Line in 2001, she knew that she wanted to pursue a career in advertising someday. A Kansas girl with big-city dreams, she is a lover of all things Mizzou, Ralph Lauren and Disney. She is so excited to be a part of Her Campus and looking forward to watching its presence grow on the Mizzou campus.
Emy Theodorakis – Contributing Writer
Emy is a freshman from Glenview, Ill. On campus she’s a member of the sorority Alpha Phi. She’s planning on double majoring in journalism, with an emphasis in strategic communication, and art direction and graphic design. She’s also Greek and spends her summers there with my family. Emy hopes to one day combine her love of travel, art and writing into a successful career.
Linnea Hardin – Contributing Writer
Linnea left her hometown of Omaha, Neb. to pursue her dreams of becoming a successful journalist. She is a freshman and plans to major in journalism with a minor in Spanish, although she is not quite sure what she wants to do as a career. Linnea spends her time as a language partner with a Korean student and as a member of the Sigma Phi Lambda sorority. She also enjoys working out at the Rec, eating peanut butter sandwiches, hanging out with her friends and winning board games.
Claire Deneen – Contributing Writer
Claire is a sophomore journalism major, with an emphasis in strategic communication, and business minor. She is originally from Naperville, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. Aside from writing for Her Campus, Claire works part-time, is a member of Kappa Delta sorority and is a member of Magazine Club. She plans to study abroad in London and travel around Europe. Claire loves running, watching movies, eating anything chocolate and shopping online. She hopes to work in the PR industry following college and live with friends in a big city.
Amanda Weston – Contributing Writer
Amanda is a freshman magazine journalism and French double major. She is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and loves reading, dancing, playing piano and spending time with her sisters. She has interned at Hill Country News in Austin, Texas, and was the features editor of The Wolfpack in Cedar Park, Texas. In the future, she hopes to attend graduate school in the U.K. and write for Vanity Fair. She has been a proud vegetarian for two years and loves traveling, fashion, music and all things Jane Austen.
Mary Trier – Contributing Writer
Mary is a sophomore journalism major and business minor from Naperville, Ill. She is vice president of public relations for Kappa Delta sorority and a member of the American Association of University Women and Golden Key International Honour Society. Mary is also a peer educator at the Wellness Resource Center and has been a part of the Magazine Club. In her free time, she likes to be with friends, watch movies, shop and read. She has worked at Hollister Co. at the mall in her hometown, and she currently works in a media lab on campus. Mary hopes to achieve even greater things, study abroad next year and have more than one fun and educational internship in the next year or two.
DaMonica Boone – Contributing Writer
DaMonica is a senior magazine journalism student with a minor in textile and apparel management. She has wanted to be a magazine editor since she was 13. Two summers ago, she interned at Teen Vogue in the fashion closet, and she interned in their accessories department last summer. Interning at Teen Vogue has taught her the ins and outs of fashion as well as fashion magazines. DaMonica also interned at Retail Jeweller magazine, a watch and jewelry trade publication, while studying abroad in London last year. She had the chance to write monthly features and loved feeling like a part of the editorial team. Besides writing for Her Campus, she is also an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She loves fashion, music, movies and, of course, cupcakes.
Karee Hackel – Contributing Writer
Karee is a junior journalism major with a minor in textile and apparel management. Karee is vice president of relations for the Mizzou Magazine Club, a member of the 2011 Homecoming Steering Committee and the public relations chair for Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was a panhellenic recruitment counselor for 2011 formal recruitment at MU. This past summer, she interned with SRQ Media Group in Sarasota, Fla., as an editorial assistant for SRQ Magazine. This summer, Karee will be interning at Seventeen magazine in New York City, which happens to be her most favorite place ever. She is a lover of all things girly, a good pair of leather riding boots, red velvet cupcakes, stalking beauty and fashion blogs and spending time with her friends and family.
Jessica Thomas – Contributing Writer
Jessica Thomas is a freshman majoring in magazine journalism. Her dream job is a tie between working for Glamour and Cook’s Illustrated, her two favorite magazines. This is her second semester writing for Her Campus, and she is already busy as a member of Magazine Club and Kappa Alpha Theta. She is originally from Wichita, Kan. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, blogs and magazines, baking, traveling and attempting to try out every TigerX class offered at the Rec.
Nathalie Granda – Contributing Writer
Nathalie is a junior majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in Spanish. She was born in Manhattan, N.Y., but raised in Miami, Fla. She is an member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and is a blog writer. She is very interested in television and film production, fashion and design, and entertainment. Her favorite hobbies are dancing, going to concerts and traveling. She can speak and write fluently in Spanish. She hopes to one day be a broadcast journalist for an entertainment program, such as E! News or Entertainment Tonight.
