Mounds of snow are melting into the grass, and we’re slowly starting to hang up our thickest coats. As spring begins to bloom, none of us can wait until we can stop wearing those dark colors that we associate with winter and below freezing temperatures. The spring runways have stripped down to something a little more bright. Shows such as Burberry Prorsum, Christian Dior, Jonathan Saunders and Mugler sent girls down radiating in a variety of luminescence.

Burberry Prorsum’s button down shirt is laid back but still strong.

Dior’s lavender mini dress is elegant but electrifying.

Jonathan Saunders’s bomber jacket is urban-chic.

Mugler’s ensemble glows like a sunset.

I’ve always been one for sequins and metallic, but these looks sparkle without layers of glitter or those tiny circles that you always end picking up off the floor. Each of these runway looks are more sophisticated than that, and they say something about a woman who’s not afraid to come out of the dark and shine.

Want to find your own spark? Slip on a pair of metallic sandals at J. Crew, strap on a shiny halter bodysuit at American Apparel, or try on this metallic pink dress from Nasty Gal.
