Spring is the best time of the year for any fashionista. The outfits are bright and fun, and the weather allows for anything! The New York Spring 2013 fashion show was full of so many amazing trends and styles from some of the hottest designers. There are a lot of cool trends to try this season, and I’m here to share some of my favorites and how you can get the look.

Stripes on Stripes

From the pages of the latest Cosmo to designers like Marc Jacobs, Stripes are everywhere and on anything.  Try some vertical striped pants like the ones celebs like Miley Cyrus has been spotted wearing. They amp a plain top, and make legs look longer and leaner.

Pile on the Beads

My favorite collection out of the entire New York 2013 Spring fashion show had to be the Marchesa collection. I thought the beading and print of this dress was so classy and elegant, and it definitely stood out against the bright orange hue.  Be on the look out for blouses and dresses with some cool beading on the collar, or try the trend with a fab beaded clutch or jewelry. This will not only dress up an outfit, but also make any plain top look like a hundred bucks!

Keeping the Edge With Leather

Jason Wu, DKNY, and Alexander Wang were just some fabulous lines that made sure leather is here to stay. Whether it was the bands on a cut out top or an entire jacket, leather was a very prominent piece on the runway. The best part is that you can buy leather almost everywhere. Check out Forever 21 and Lulu’s for some affordable and chic pieces, or a local vintage shop for a one of a kind!

Bright Eyed Girl

Some show stopping sunnies are one of the hottest accessories for Spring 2013! What’s an easier way of upgrading your outfit than by throwing on some cool glasses? We saw some of the wildest and hottest sunglasses on the runway this season, and we cannot be more excited. I’ve been all over Karen Walker’s sunglasses lately. They’re unique, fabulous, and totally worth the splurge. If you’re looking for a short-term pair, check out for some great styles from Urban Outfitters.

Red is Forever

If you thought red lips is only were only for the cold seasons, think again! Red lipstick actually has never really gone out of style. Designers like Dolce and Gabbana and Prada are sticking with the bright lips for this season. A red pout can brighten an awesome outfit instantly! Search for reds with a more coral and pink undertone to keep the trend, but make it brighter for the new season!  If you’re willing to splurge, try the Yves Saint Laurent Glossy stain. It’s a lipstick that applies like gloss, and lasts an extremely long time.  Mac also has a great variety of affordable and great shades.

What are some of your favorite Spring 2013 trends, collegiettes?
