We’ve been busy obsessing over the upcoming semester and – shocker – other Mizzou collegiettes have been too!  We surveyed 58 readers and got the scoop on everything from seeking out Campus Cuties to crucial freshmen advice.

Drum roll, please.

What major Mizzou event are collegiettes most excited for this semester?  This one’s not even close.  Almost 67 percent of MU collegiettes can’t wait for the first SEC football game.  Check back soon for more SEC-inspired content!

Mizzou is NOT a small school and there are many places to have classes on campus.  Some are clear winners and some (cough, Engineering West, cough) are not as desirable. What’s the most important thing about college?  It’s debatable, but we’d hope that staying on top of academics is certainly up there.  And of course, a collegiette needs a prime locale for studying and staying on task.  About 38 percent of MU collegiettes are heading to the Student Center for their first major study sesh.  Club Ellis, Memorial Union, and the quad (with nice weather) were all neck-in-neck for second place.

While you’re off studying, why not make a friend?  And why not make a friend that happens to be Campus Cutie worthy?  According to collegiettes, the best place to meet Campus Cuties is in a lab or group project setting (40 percent).  Twenty-six percent were all about heading to the Rec to meet Campus Cuties and about 20 percent said a fraternity is the place to be.  Good luck in your quest, collegiettes!hercampusmizzou@gmail.com) and give us the scoop!

What food made Mizzou collegiettes nostalgic for Columbia this summer?  Forty-two percent of you said you missed Gumby’s most.  We can’t argue with that data but let’s not leave Pickleman’s and Shakespeare’s out of the mix!

Speaking of nostalgia, chances are you’ll be bringing some summer back with you.  While the weather is still nice in Como, we expect to see many collegiettes (and guys) out and about bumping some music.  The summer anthem that you will continue to blast?  You guessed it: “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen.

What’s an essential item that you MUST have when you come back to Columbia?  We asked collegiettes this open-answer question and it still had a dominating majority:  More specifically: a Lilly Pulitzer planner.  But of course we can’t forget those black and gold accessories, workout clothes for the Rec, and a stash of chocolate when the classes get rough!

Clearly, you guys have some plans in mind already based on our survey responses.  But let’s not forget to initiate our new freshmen Tigers with some wisdom:

The best place to make new friends and chill as a freshman?

66 percent say the dorm hallways and lounges!

The dining hall Mizzou collegiettes swear their allegiance to?

38 percent say Plaza 900!

And a piece of advice collegiettes would give to incoming freshmen collegiettes?

“Don’t go home Labor Day Weekend- you will get less homesick by forcing yourself to stay at school!”

“Find a healthy balance between school work and socializing!”

“Take advantage of all the opportunities available to you and don’t be afraid to try new things.”

“Be open to meeting all kinds of different people. Join as many clubs as your schedule allows. Cheer loud and proud for the Tigers!”

“Whatever you want to do in college, start now.”

There you have it, collegiettes!  Be sure to visit Her Campus Mizzou each week for all things Mizzou – according to HER!
