After a huge Thanksgiving meal, sometimes we are already too stuffed to eat a piece of cake or pie, but still want something sweet to finish off the feast. I love making small treats for dessert every Thanksgiving to go along with the pumpkin pie. Here are some quick, easy-to-make recipes for desserts that are all turkey-themed.

Turkey Pretzel Rods

What you’ll need:

  • Pretzel rods
  • Chocolate frosting (or melted chocolate of your choice)
  • Candy corn
  • Black and white icing
  • Orange M&Ms

Steps:

  • Dip half of one pretzel rod into the chocolate frosting or melted chocolate.
  • Attach about eight candy corn pieces onto the back of the pretzel rod in a shape the forms a half circle (these will be the turkey feathers).
  • Slice an orange M&M in half.
  • Attach one half of the M&M onto the front of the pretzel rod (this will be the turkey beak).
  • Set the pretzel rod onto a non-stick paper for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Once the chocolate and candy has stuck and hardened, make the turkey eyes by applying to large dots of white icing onto the front of the rod, then a smaller black dot in the middle of the white dots.

Turkey Cupcakes

What you’ll need:

  • Any flavor cupcake
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Candy corn
  • Black and white icing
  • Orange M&Ms

Steps:

  • Frost the cupcakes with the chocolate frosting.
  • Place the candy corn pieces along the outer part of the cupcake (these will be the turkey feathers).
  • Slice an orange M&M in half.
  • Attach one half of the M&M onto the cupcake (this will be the turkey beak).
  • Apply two large dots of white icing onto the cupcake, then a smaller black dot in the middle of the white dots.

Oreo Turkeys

(This is the easiest and quickest one to make!)

What you’ll need:

  • Oreo cookies
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Candy corn
  • Black and white icing
  • Orange M&Ms

Steps:

  • Gently stick the candy corn into about half of the cream filling of the cookie (these will be the turkey feathers).
  • Slice an orange M&M in half.
  • On the front of the Oreo cookie attach one half of an orange M&M (this will be the turkey beak).
  • Apply two large dots of white icing onto the front of the Oreo, then a smaller black dot in the middle of the white dots.
