5 Reasons Queen B is the Fiercest

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

Let’s be honest with ourselves for a minute. Most of us did not watch last weeks Super Bowl for the Ravens or the 49ers; we watched it for the Half Time show. Why? Beyoncé.

I don’t think I’m the only one out there who referred to Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Halftime performance as the highlight of the game. She was sexy, energetic, flawless, and beyond fierce. The performance left a statement and post Super Bowl, Beyonce’s solo record sales have increased by 119% and Destiny’s Child by 328%. She then announced her World Tour, “ The Mrs. Carter show” beginning on April 15, 2013.

A great night for Beyoncé fans? I think yes. All this hype got me thinking; why is Queen B the fiercest in the business?

1.If you can look like that after having a child, you’re a super woman.

Beyoncé’s Super Bowl attire was far from modest, she flaunted that perfect body of hers (in good reason!). Most women would be more than satisfied with a body like that BEFORE having a baby, let alone after.  Only B would have a rockin bod a year after giving birth.

2.President Obama thinks she’s a great role model for his daughters

At a fundraiser for Obama’s reelection hosted by Jay-Z and Beyoncé, the President said, “Beyoncé could not be a better role model for my girls.” It doesn’t matter your political affiliation, being called a role model by the President of the United States is something to be proud of.

3. A childhood star that didn’t end up in rehab or falling off the face of the earth

When you think of childhood tunes you probably think of The Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, Brittany Spears, Destiny’s Child, TLC, etc.  Out of all our favorite childhood entertainers, Beyoncé is one of the few (Justin Timberlake included) that is still making new music and performing.

4. She empowers women

B doesn’t just sing about girl power (i.e. “Girls (Who Run the World)” and “Independent Women”), she models it. Did you see a single man on stage in her Super Bowl performance? Nope! An all female band and all female dancers accompanied Beyoncé on the Super Bowl stage. Ironic how Beyoncé’s all girl performance stole the show at the biggest football game of the year played by all men? I think not. Girl power!

5. The Obvious

I don’t know many people who would disagree with my claim that Beyoncé is drop dead gorgeous and undoubtly talented. Her voice is excellent and her dance moves are signature. Not only is she amazing at what she does, but she looks flawless doing it.
