2017 Halloween Celebrity Costume Roundup

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

Long gone are the days where Halloween was just one fun night to dress up and get spooky. These days it seems like people have to come up with five different costumes to look picture perfect at every party of “Halloweek”. While this is stressful for the average girl on a college budget, Halloween is the perfect time for celebrities to show off their creativity and upstage the previous year’s costume.

This year, Halloween costumes were all about pop culture. From fellow celebrities and TV show icons to clever and creative puns, it seems like most celebrities strayed away from scary, gory and political to appreciate yesterday and today’s cultures. Here are some of the best celebrity costumes.

Lauren Conrad as Cruella de Vil

“If she doesn’t scare you, no evil thing will,” she captioned on Instagram.

Lady Gaga as Edward Scissorhands

Per typical Lady Gaga fashion, she went all out with this look.

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson as Game of Thrones

Parents-to-be Khloé and Tristan went as Mother of Dragons and Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones. Khloé captioned her Instagram photo, “Moon of my life.”

Kim Kardashian as Selena

Kim K went as music icon Selena Quintanilla, even mastering her dance moves.

Kourtney and Kim Kardashian as Michael and Marilyn

Kourtney and Kim went in on the Halloween fun together by dressing up as Michael Jackson and Marilyn Monroe.

Kim Kardashian and BFF Jonathan Cheban as Sonny and Cher

Kim also dressed up as Cher with BFF Jonathan, who went as Sonny Bono. The look was so impressive it even caught the attention of Cher herself.

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams as Stranger Things

Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland and Bachelorette alum Wells Adams sparked romance rumors over the weekend by dressing up as Eleven and Dustin from Stranger Things.

Jessica Alba as Juno

Jessica put her baby bump to good use this year, dressing up as Juno.

Demi Lovato as Selena Quintanilla

Who wore it better: Kim or Demi?

Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka and kids as Circus Performers

This festive family proves that Halloween is more fun with the whole gang.

Heidi Klum as a Werewolf

Over the years, Heidi has proven that no one loves Halloween as much as Heidi.

Bruce Willis and Stephen J. Eads as the twins from The Shining

This one was just downright creepy.

Kristen Bell as Elsa from Frozen

Despite actually playing Princess Anna in Frozen, Kristen’s daughter demanded Bell go as Queen Elsa for Halloween this year. Fun fact: Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis were both forced to go as Elsa.
