12 Lessons ‘Boy Meets World’ Taught Us About College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

The ’90s show “Boy Meets World” taught our generation many life lessons growing up, whether we noticed it or not. Realistic and non-realistic situations throughout the course of seven years helped shaped us into the 20-something’s we have become — something that could either be considered good (such as the meaning of friendship), or just plain cheesy (like Cory and Topanga dating since birth). Here are 15 college/life lessons we’ve picked up on.

1. We were taught to dream big.

2. How to efficiently learn in class.

3. And how to successfully get homework done.

4. They tried to warn us about frat boys.

5. And about college in general.

6. They taught us the first thing you should do when arriving home.

7. Topanga taught us that pizza is life — workouts can wait.

8. And Cory taught us what we should bring.

9. They tried to warn us about that dreadful week that comes way too fast.

10. We learned that friends who dance together, stay together.

11. And that our soulmate could be out there somewhere.

12. And Cory let us know that being emotional in college is OK.

And as if we aren’t already anxiously waiting for sunshine and beaches, now we have even more to look forward to with this.

Rumors of the next generation of “Boy Meets World” have been spreading since early this fall. Right when I had given up hope on the show being a real possibility, Disney announces it will air this summer. So, obviously, we will all have the best summer thanks to “Girl Meets World” and Disney.

Because this will never get old.
