10 Holiday Gifts Under $10 For Your Family and Friends

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

1. Bunch o’ candy

Spoil your friends and family with sweetness by giving them different types of candy. Target sells movie theater boxes of candy for $1.00 a piece.

If you want to get creative, glue the movie theater candy boxes together to make a box and then fill the rest with fun-sized candy!

2. Indulgence explosion

Do you know someone who is stressed out all of the time? Give them the gift of relaxation with a bath bomb and bath salts. Lush sells bath bombs priced from $4 to $9, and Target sells bath salts from $3-$8.

Also, check out these other places to buy homemade bath products.

3. Hot cocoa treat

Did you know you can get an entire box of hot chocolate for less than $2? Pair that with a cute mug and some candy canes, and you’ve made a cute present that looks far more expensive than it was.

If you want to take it up a notch, you can get three small mason jars and fill one up with hot cocoa mix, one up with candy canes, and one with marshmallows. When tied with a bow, it would be a delicious gift.

4. Cozy and warm surprise

Is your BFF always wearing extra layers or complaining she’s cold? Buy her a cute pair of fuzzy socks, a hat or some mittens to keep her from shivering through January and February.

5. Smarty-pants’ dream

Especially because it’s finals time, some extra school supplies would be helpful. Give your writer or bookworm friend a notebook and a cute pen.

Check out Marshalls or Homegoods for cute notebooks that are discounted!

6. Chapped attack

The winter weather definitely takes a toll on our skin despite our beauty routines’ efforts to prevent dryness. Get your friend some lip balms to protect their lips from the cold wind.

Eos, Burts’ Bees, Nivea and Chapstick all sell cute and practical lip balms at a low price.

7. Coffee addict’s heaven

Does one of your friends or family members have coffee for blood? A coffee mug, thermos or tumbler cup goes a long way for someone who is drinking coffee throughout the day. You can also fill it with Keurig cups.

Instead, you can also provide them with a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts gift card.

8. Prim and proper

You can get nail polish for your classy friends (who have their life together and actually have time to paint their nails) to keep them looking spiffy and fresh. Get them one bottle of Essie or two or three bottles of a cheaper brand. You can also throw in a patterned nail file.

9. Cookie in a jar

Browse Pinterest for a cookie-in-a-jar recipe and fill your jar up for all of your friends and family! This is a fun and easy way to create something that looks put together, and you probably have many of the ingredients already. Also, your friends and family will thank you when they are eating delicious cookies.

Note: This one may be over $10 if you do not already have all or some of the ingredients.

10. When all else fails, let them decide

At the end of the day, if you can’t decide what to get your family and friends for the holidays, just get them a gift card. There are so many different companies who sell gift cards for $10, so get them something they think they’ll enjoy!
