What 2000s Song Are You Based on Your Zodiac Sign?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Minnesota chapter.

Let’s be real: when you’re driving around with your friends and a throwback song comes on the radio, you’re definitely going to reach for the volume button to turn it all the way up. 2000s songs are and will forever be the best jams. Some of these tunes suit certain Zodiac signs so well it would be a shame not to mention them.

Aries (March 21-April 19)- Pop, Lock And Drop It

Aries are some of the most confident and energetic people. They’re strong leaders who are excellent at multitasking. They’re the type of people to be the first on the dance floor, even if nobody else is dancing with them. “Pop, Lock and Drop It” lets an Aries show off their confidence while literally popping, locking and dropping it on the dance floor.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)- Stickwitu

Taurses are known for being incredibly loyal and reliable. They surround themselves with love and affection. They will always be there for you when you’re having issues, even if it’s 4 AM during finals week. This song is a ballad for sticking with your loved one through rough times, just like a Taurus would do for their partner or friends.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)- Shortie Like Mine

Geminis aren’t afraid to express their feelings, especially towards the person they love. They’re very communicative and tend to speak freely about what’s on their mind. If you’ve received a text from your loved one that takes you a good five minutes to read, you’re probably dating a Gemini. The way Bow Wow talks about his love in “Shortie Like Mine” is so passionate and honest, just like how a Gemini expresses their feelings. We need more guys like Bow Wow, am I right?

Cancer (June 21-July 22)- No Air

Cancers are typically very sensitive and sympathetic people. They wear their heart on their sleeves which some people may see as being moody, and they often perceive issues as more difficult than they really are. They often get a bad reputation, but there’s honestly nothing wrong with having emotions. Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown’s dynamic energy in “No Air” is perfect for a Cancer because it showcases their vulnerability and heavy emotions.

Leo (July 23-August 22)- This Is Why I’m Hot

Nobody has the self-confidence that a Leo has. They love being the center of attention and crave recognition. They may come off as too self-centered or arrogant, but let them live! They’re just doing them. “This Is Why I’m Hot” is a Leo’s anthem because it lets them express their self-love and cheerful spirit.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)- Me N U

Virgos are good judges of character. They’re also detail oriented, meaning they’ll analyze every part of a situation. They have to make a pros and cons list for every big decision they make in life, especially when it comes to dating. “Me N U” is a song where Cassie is hesitant at first about getting into something serious, but once she makes up her mind, she’s all in.

Libra (September 23-October 22)- Whatever You Like

Libras are very cooperative and peaceful beings. They like to come to a compromise when a conflict arises. They may be the type of person who literally cannot decide on a place to go, so they’ll let you pick. “Whatever You Like” is the perfect song for a Virgo because it allows them to let the person they’re with make all the calls and go with the flow. Fun fact: T. Pain’s birthday is September 30th, which means is a Libra.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)- Irreplaceable

Assertive and logical are two characteristics of a Scorpio. They’re the type of friend you turn to when you need to get info on someone because they basically have a degree in  Facebook stalking. They hate dishonesty and will kick you to the curb if they expect that anything scummy is going on. Scorpios will let you know that you messed up and replace you ASAP. Who better to represent this sign than Queen B?

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)- Independent

Sagittariuses are free-spirited beings who love exploring the world, especially on their own. They definitely don’t need no man. Their positivity and enthusiasm about the world are traits that set them apart from the other signs. “Independent” is an empowering anthem for those Sagittariuses who own their individualistic attitude. (sidenote: I still have to sing this song whenever I need to spell the word ‘independent’).

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)- Stronger

Capricorns are the responsible ones who strive for greatness. They’re serious in their life goals and will use their great self-control to push themselves to their limits. Kanye West’s “Stronger” describes the life of a Capricorn because it shows their resilience and self-motivation. It also shows that they can have a hint of arrogance, just like Kanye himself.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)- Crank That

People who have the Aquarius sign are usually more reserved and quiet, but can become the life of the party if they’re with the right crowd. They also have a passion for helping others. Soulja Boy’s hit song was one that everyone stood up and danced to in middle school, even if you weren’t a good dancer. Kids would all do the same choreographed dance together and have a great time no matter who you were.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)- Pursuit of Happiness

‘Dream big, live bigger’ is the motto of a Pisces. They are very happy-go-lucky people who always find the brighter side in life. Their selflessness attracts others, so they always keep themselves in good company. “Pursuit of Happiness” is about living life to the fullest and doing things that make you happy, which is perfect for a Pisces.

Have fun listening to these throwbacks!
