Reasons Why Chrissy Teigen is Amazing

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Minnesota chapter.

Once upon a time, God decided we all needed more humor and joy in our life and thus Chrissy Teigen was born. She started out as a model (understandably so, she’s gorgeous) and wrote a few popular cookbooks, but she became famous after she started dating and eventually marrying John Legend. From her hysterical Twitter account, her adorable family and her recent discussion about her postpartum depression, Chrissy is a blessing we didn’t know we needed, and here’s why:

Her tweets are hilarious.

For those of you who don’t have a Twitter or don’t follow her, never fear; this Buzzfeed article includes some of her best tweets. One of my favorite aspects of Chrissy’s Twitter is her clapbacks, namely at Donald Trump, but also at some of her random followers. If someone tweets something rude or negative at her, she responds with a beautifully crafted, sass-ridden tweet back to put them in their place. It’s awesome because she doesn’t try to act all nice and sweet for publicity; she acts true to herself. She also tweets at Donald Trump quite a bit, usually responding to his normally ridiculous tweets. I don’t think he’s ever answered or acknowledged her, but hopefully soon.

Her family is goals.

First of all, she’s married to John Legend which means his song “All of Me” was written about her, so if that isn’t goals I don’t know what is. Second, their baby girl, Luna, is one of the cutest babies I’ve ever seen. Going back to her Twitter, she and John also tweet hilarious things back and forth to each other. He also helped her take her jewelry off while she was drunk, so if you haven’t seen that video check it out here.

Her discussion on her postpartum depression that was inspiring for all women.

For those who don’t know, postpartum depression is depression some mothers experience after giving birth. It’s really common, but a lot of moms believe something is wrong with them and are ashamed that they experience it. However, Chrissy recently spoke out about her postpartum depression after she gave birth to her daughter and let mothers everywhere know that it’s nothing to be ashamed of. In an article where she talked about it she said, “I’m speaking up now because I want people to know it can happen to anybody, and I don’t want people who have it to feel embarrassed or to feel alone.” She also discussed the symptoms she experienced, what she felt, and how her husband was her biggest supporter. It’s so important that she talked about this painful subject because so many mothers experience it and now they know they aren’t alone.

These are only a few reasons of why she’s amazing; I could spend eternity talking about her. From her hysterical tweets to her discussion on postpartum depression it’s easy to see why people love her. Keep being awesome, Chrissy!
