This post is for every level of Minnesota sport fans-from die hards who bleed maroon and gold to girls who just want to stay up to date of what the boys are talking about.

Gopher Football

First of all, can we say how cool Jerry Kill. If you haven’t seen this press conference yet…watch it.  Gophers lost, again, to Purdue last Saturday, 45-17. After winning just one of their games (including non-conference) many are losing hope in the Gophers, especially now facing some of the best in our conference. The next game is October 22nd against Nebraska. The Huskers just came off a big win against Ohio State this past weekend and are ranked #14th.

Even if we lose,we still have Homecoming festivities starting this Friday. Despite a possible slaughter, we can still hit up the parade, Atmosphere Concert, Lip Synch, and more!

Gopher Hockey

Could Gopher Hockey be our saving grace in Gopher Sports this year? Are the Gophers not going to be a laughing stock in Big 10 in all of our sports? Last weekend, Gophers won their first two games of the season by shutout of Sacred Heart for first time since 1936 when they beat Carleton (7-0) and Dartmouth (2-0). This weekend we travel to Duluth to play the Bulldogs. This is a big game to see how the Gophers fare when playing with the big (Bull)dogs. UMD are the defending national champs and also one of our biggest rivals.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikes finally won against the Cardinals this past weekend after notoriously falling apart after the second half of their previous games. This Sunday night will be a big game as the Vikings are matched up against long time rival, Chicago Bears. The Vikings are currently last in the NFC North Standings with the Bears right in front of them.

Minnesta Lynx

We couldn’t leave you without talking about our Women’s National Basketball CHAMPS! The Minnesota Lynx swept Atlanta to win their first ever WNBA championship. Today was full of parades and celebrations throughout the Twin Cities. CONGRATS LADIES!

Edwina is entering her senior year at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities where she is majoring in Public Relations.
