Bradley Taylor, a 2014 University of Minnesota amlumnus and co-owner of SSS Dude-Nutz with fiancée, Ashley Peterson, was born and raised in California, but came to Minnesota for school, where he graduated with a degree in Sociology. One of my first questions for Bradley was how SSS Dude-Nutz obtained it’s unique name. He said that in high school, his retainer gave him a lisp so “dude” came out more like “sssdude,” and that simply became his thing. With a name like SSS Dude-Nutz, you wonder what type of funky names the donuts have. Bradley told me that the names are completely organic, all his own creations. There’s Oprah Money, OH F*** Yah!, the ODB (Old Dirty Bastard) and Girls Love Beyoncé in the glass cases that hold his delectable square donuts. Bradley’s current favorite is the Ferrari Frat Boy, a donut covered with coffee infused glaze.

“Keep it sexy. Eat donutz.” is the motto of Bradley’s donut shop in Dinkytown. He told Her Campus that his vision for the unique new shop next to Annie’s Parlor was to have it feel like, “that one friend’s house that everybody always wanted to be at.” With sofas, armchairs, a video game console and loud (but good) music, SSS Dude-Nutz achieved just that. The atmosphere in the shop is chill, laid-back, welcoming and fun.
