Our on campus art museum, the Weisman Art Museum (WAM), reopened this month after a year long closure and a $14 million dollar expansion with WAMDEMONIUM-an event showcasing the museum and continuing the tradition of supporting arts at the U.

On Sunday, Oct 2nd, the museum was opened to the public and planned events planned throughout the day. One of the sessions was an outdoor yoga session lead by Gorilla Yogis. Gorilla Yogis is a movement to get Yoga out of the workout room and into places that many wouldn’t think-like in the middle of a college campus! Perfect with this indian summer Minneapolis has been having as well.

This campus gem is a great place to unwind after a hard exam, a cheap date spot, and even has special opportunites for students. One of these is their internships. Students who apply are paired up with a Weisman staff member where they will assist with real musem showings, events, and more! For contact and applicaiton information see here

Students can also from the museum for a very discounted rate-12 dollars to showcase actually artwork in your place! Talk about bragging rights the next time you have people over.
