4 Sunny Spring Break Vacations on a College Budget

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Minnesota chapter.

With Winter Break behind us, it’s time to think of sunnier things – Spring Break. By mid-March, we’re all ready to get out of the gloomy, semi-winter/semi-spring weather and head somewhere with sun, warmth and beaches. Check out this list of fun and affordable destinations to spend your spring break:

Daytona Beach, Florida

Daytime temperatures in Daytona Beach average 80 degrees in March…do you need another reason to go? This is an extremely popular Spring Break destination, especially for college students. It’s basically a week-long party with beaches, ocean-front bars and student friendly hotels, like the Hawaiian Inn Beach Resort. If you feel like heading out of Daytona Beach for a day trip, Universal Studios and Disney World are only an hour drive away. If you’re heading this way for break, check out the Daytona Beach Spring Break 2017 official page for more information.

Myrtle Beach, North Carolina

Myrtle Beach is one of the hottest spots for college spring breakers. There’s sandy beaches, hot weather and lots of partying. Nightculbs, bars, sunshine and tacky t-shirts are what Myrtle Beach is all about. If you’re looking for a Spring Break full of excitement, this is the place for you. Though flight prices vary, flights can be on the expensive end. However, you’ll have a blast here and as soon as you feel the warm North Carolina sun, it’ll be worth it. If you’d consider driving there, it’s a 20 hour trek, but very doable with a few drivers and some good tunes.

Panama City Beach, Florida

Panama City Beach is called the “Spring Break Capital of the World” for a reason. It has 27 miles of white sand beaches. This place is wild with tons of nightclubs, live DJ’s and day parties every day. Sign me up! Check out this website to get a 7 day stay for $179!

Cancun, Mexico

If you’re looking to get out of the U.S. for spring break, Cancun is a great option! Hot, sunny days, with lots of options for relaxation and exploring will make for an awesome Spring Break. You can find great student deals at all-inclusive or semi-inclusive resorts to make your stay laid-back and luxurious – check out Student City for more information! Your break will be full of swimming in the ocean, eating authentic Mexican food, going to lively nightclubs like Señor Frog’s and much more.

Only six more weeks until spring break, Gophers! If you want to leave Minnesota for break, start planning now, so you can ensure a fun and safe trip.
