12 Thoughts We Have While Visiting Other Schools

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Minnesota chapter.

Though you may have visited other campuses when you were making a decision on where you wanted to go to college, you didn’t really get a taste of campus life. It’s always fun to visit friends at other colleges and check out what life is like there for a weekend. Here are some thoughts you’ve definitely had while visiting another school:

“Do I look like a tourist? Can they tell I’m not one of them?”

“I hope my friends’ college friends think I’m cool.”

“My friends’ college friends are cool. I hope my friend doesn’t think they’re cooler than me.”

“This campus does not look like I thought it would.”

“My campus is so much prettier.”

“Wow! New things! I need to buy something from every cute store and eat at every cool restaurant!”

“This campus is a literal maze.”

“We definitely party way harder than this school.”

Except of course, if you’re visiting UW-Madison — they’re intense.

“No one knows me here. This is kind of cool.”

“Wow, sleeping on the floor or crammed in a twin bed is not ideal.”

“I have gotten NO homework done this weekend. At all.”

“I miss seeing maroon and gold everywhere.”

Visiting other campuses is fun, but nothing beats home at the University of Minnesota.
