Let’s talk about makeup. Makeup is great, but unfortunately many popular brands test their ingredients and products on animals. We can all agree that this is a big issue in the beauty world, but because of the increase in education and awareness of this problem more companies are devoting themselves to creating cruelty-free products. Here are some of the best cruelty-free brands available right now.

Anastasia Beverly Hills

Anastasia Beverly Hills is most known for their brow products and innovative “Golden Ratio” method of brow shaping. These products are popular among celebrities, including the Kardashians, Jennifer Lopez and Victoria Beckham. Their products range from twelve dollars to sixty-five and are available at Macy’s, Ulta, Sephora and other high-end retailers.

BECCA

Becca cosmetics has focused their brand on enhancing your natural beauty. Some of their most popular products are designed to amp up the glow factor with their gorgeous highlighters (including the beauty cult favorite “Champagne Pop” highlighter) and illuminating foundations. Their products range from fifteen to fifty dollars and are available at Sephora.

ColourPop

This company is one of the newest brands on this list. Founded in 2014 ColourPop prides themselves on being “wallet friendly and bunny approved” because of their low prices and refusal to test on animals. Some of their products are even gluten free! Their products are available exclusively at ColourPop.com.

Essence

Essence was created with the goals of high quality, fun and low priced products in mind. The products are entirely cruelty-free and the company gives a percentage of their profits to charities such as Feeding America and Dress for Success. Products are available at Ulta and Target.

IT Cosmetics

IT Cosmetics was developed by plastic surgeons and dermatologists, and their products are made with chemical-free ingredients that help reduce signs of aging and that are perfect for those with sensitive skin. The company’s mission is to solve all of your toughest skin problems and help you look flawless. Prices for products range from twelve dollars to seventy-five and are available at Ulta, Sephora and the IT Cosmetics website.

Too Faced

Too Faced is all about confidence, fun and a love of pink. The brand is known for their quirky packaging, such as the “better than sex” mascara and the“chocolate bar” eyeshadow palette. Their Sweet Peach Collection is a best seller (seriously, people go crazy over this stuff) because of their beautiful, natural colors and peachy scent.

China Glaze

As someone who is in love with nail polish, I can vouch for the quality of China Glaze nail polishes. Their products range from neutrals to popping neons, and their glitter polishes are GORGEOUS. Their polishes sell for $7.50 at Ulta, which is an amazing price for a great selection of colors and styles.

butter LONDON

butter LONDON is an American company devoted to bringing all the charm and posh-ness of London to the U.S (thankfully letting us skip the fourteen hour flight). The brand started out as a natural nail polish company but has now extended their product line to eyes, lips and face. Their nail polishes were the first “3-free” polishes on the market, which means the polishes are made without three harmful chemicals (including Formaldehyde, ew!). Their products are sold on the butter LONDON website as well at Ulta, Nordstrom and other retailers.

LUSH

I’m sure we’ve all seen videos of the gorgeous bath bombs that make the tub look like outer space. Besides their trending products, the company is committed to using fresh, natural ingredients as well as maintaining ethical purchasing so their money goes towards communities who need it most. Basically, this company is amazing and eco-friendly and gives you plenty of reasons to stock up on their products for when you need to pamper yourself. Their products are sold exclusively at LUSH retail stores and on their website.

Physicians Formula

Physicians Formula started making products specifically for people with sensitive skin. According to their website, they are the #1 brand for bronzer, mineral makeup and organic makeup. That’s a lot of big claims, but their insanely popular bronzers and blushes seem to be proof enough. As an added bonus, the brand can be found in most drugstores.

Makeup is amazing, and it’s even better when the producers work hard to make sure their products are natural, organic and still feel luxurious. These brands are making positive strides in the beauty business by helping out the earth as well as creating fabulous products.
