This time of year is full of spooky nights and what better way to spend them than at a haunted house? The Lancaster and Philadelphia are full of haunted houses that are bound to scare you too death. These haunted houses had me looking over my shoulder for the rest of the night, but it was so much fun. So, grab some friends and check out some of my favorite haunted houses.
1. Field of Screams
My first time going to field of screams was this year and I had an absolute blast. There are four different types of attractions you can go to. The first is the Hayride, where you ride through each of the sections the hayride drives through. The second was a walkthrough called Nocturnal Wasteland, which is a sort of maze that you maneuver through. The third one is called the Den of Darkness. This is a chilling farmhouse with scares around every corner. The last one is called Frightmare Asylum, it’s the creepiest of them all. It’s full of crazy doctors and insane patients.
2. Jason’s Woods
Jason’s Woods isn’t for the faint of heart, its full of five terrifying attractions that scared me half to death. The first part of the attraction is a haunted hayride filled with a ton of scare jumps. The second is the Chamber of Horrors and it was designed to give you the full experience to maximize the scare. The third is zombie apocalypse, a walk-through attraction that will be sure to get your heart racing. The fourth is Lost in Jason’s Woods, a terrifying walkthrough that will have you jumping at the slightest sound. The last attraction is Carnival of Fear, which is full of killer clowns just waiting to get you.
3. Pennhurst Asylum
This is a paranormal investigation that takes place in the run-down asylum. This used to be the home of 2,700 patients who are rumored to haunt the halls. This is a real-life ghost hunt that is led by a team member from the asylum. You are also able to bring your own equipment so you can catch a ghost on your own. This is an overnight investigation so do this at your own risk. I haven’t done this one yet, but it is definitely on the top of my list.
