Thank U, Next: Ariana Grande to be Honored as Billboard’s Woman of the Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

If God is a woman, it must be Ariana Grande. Fresh off her record-breaking release of the highly praised music video for “thank u, next,” Ari is not done slayin’.

Joining an all-star group of women (Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and much more) the pop star was just named Billboard’s 2018 Woman of the Year, and we could not be more here for it. After a rough few years personally, Grande continues to define getting back up after you’ve been knocked down. She brought the globe together after the tragic bombing at her concert that killed 22 of her fans in Manchester. She smashed the charts with her newest album Sweetener. She continued to work after the horribly unexpected death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, and after her very public breakup with Pete Davidson. Through tragedy and heartbreak, nothing seems to be able to stop this powerhouse of a woman.

Grande will be honored at the 13th annual Billboard Women in Music dinner and awards gala tomorrow night, December 6, in New York.
