If you’re a good person, you probably are just as addicted to coffee as I am. And if you are like me and hate your basic tendencies, you are probably dangerously addicted to Starbucks. As a barista for the last nine months, I feel like I know a thing or two about ordering. Everyone’s heard of the secret menu, but you should really start listening to your local baristas when ordering drinks! Here are my tips (and a couple of tips from my coworkers) about the best drinks to order!
1. White Chocolate Mocha with Toffee Nut
The white chocolate mocha was already one of my favorite drinks, I would not have dreamed of changing anything about it. But one of my coworkers made me try it with toffee nut and I never went back. If you’re feeling adventurous, order a white chocolate mocha with half the pumps of white mocha and half the pumps of toffee nut. I also order it with caramel drizzle. Heaven.
2. White Chocolate Strawberries & Creme
One of the first things I learned when I started at Starbucks – white mocha makes EVERYTHING better. Order a Strawberries & Cream frappuccino with pumps of white mocha (2 for a tall, 3 for a grande, and 4 for a venti) and you have yourself a white chocolate strawberry utopia.
3. Vanilla Bean with Mocha
You know the Wendy’s frosty? Yeah, this is that – but WAY better. Order a vanilla bean frappuccino with mocha (mocha drizzle if you are a chocoholic). This is happiness in a cup. Do not forget the whip.
4. Pumpkin Spice with White Mocha
The pumpkin spice is probably the most popular and trendy drink ever, but with it being seasonal I don’t feel like anyone really thinks about upgrading the drink. I add white mocha to it (again, white mocha is the cure for everything) and it is the amazing taste you expect from your favorite fall drink and so so much more.
5. Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew with Hazelnut
There isn’t a lot of explanation to this one, but if you like iced coffee or cold brew, this is the perfect choice for you. Ask for a vanilla sweet cream cold brew, with french vanilla (french vanilla is just regular vanilla with hazelnut). It’s the perfect balance of coffee goodness and sweet sensations.
6. Iced Chai with White Mocha
You might be sick of the words right now, but I’m trying to enhance your life. Order an iced chai latte with pumps of white mocha (2 for tall, 3 for grande, 4 for venti). Chai is already delicious, but the white mocha gives it that creamy and amazing flavor you didn’t know you needed.
Go forth, and live.
