Millersville University is situated in the heart of Lancaster County, just minutes away from Lancaster City. This means that there are a lot of opportunities to find things to do around MU, and today I am counting down my favorites! In no particular order. . .
- The Gem Den

This is a cute rock shop in Downtown Lancaster, and I love exploring this store! I started collecting rocks after visiting my friend in Colorado, and when I found this place right by me, I got so excited. I cannot wait to make another visit here soon!
- Columbia River Park

My roommate and I used to drive here all the time and watch the sunset, and it is something I still do every now and again when I have time. The view of the Susquehanna River is beautiful and it is so peaceful down there. I highly recommend the trip!
- White Cliffs of Conoy

This is a perfect place to go this coming spring. I love walking the trail to the White Cliffs, which is a really unique area. The views are also great, and the trail is home to walkers and bikers alike. I love seeing all the dogs people are walking, and saying hi to people enjoying the weather!
- Pine View Dairy

This place has some of the best ice cream I have ever had! The store inside has a lot of Lancaster goodies, from Whoopie Pies to cookies! I love getting to go look at the baby cows they have there. Definitely worth the trip, especially on one of those first warm days!
- Rolled Cone Creamery

What can I say, I am a fan of ice cream. This place is located in Downtown Lancaster, and has a unique combo of mix-ins and flavors. I’ve waited over half an hour for this place before and did not regret a minute of it!
- Miller’s Smorgasbord Restaurant

I have only been here once, but my parents came to visit one day and we tried it, and it was great! I had three different types of chicken (nuggets, fried, and grilled), and loved them all. The selection on the buffet was great! There was definitely an option for everyone.
- Sugarbowl

This on-campus/off-campus dining location is the perfect place to grab your favorites. It sells pizza, sandwiches, chicken tenders, the best fries, and more. Located right across from Millersville’s stadium, this is a great spot!
- Tanger Outlets Lancaster

A great place to go on a warm day, these outlets offer a wonderful selection of stores and some of the best deals around town. I used to come here with my family all the time as a kid, and it is so nice to come back every once in a while when I am here at school!
- Park City Center

This one is a great choice for shopping during the colder months or on bad weather days, or just when you’re wanting to shop around! This is a great place to come and hang out with friends, and Millersville runs a bus here if you don’t have a car!
- The Shoppes at Belmont

One of my personal favorites, these shops are home to the closest Target to campus, and Target is one of my favorite places. These shops also include a variety of other stores and restaurants, and are right down the road from a Walmart as well!
So, that wraps up some of my favorite spots around campus! I can’t wait to continue to explore the Millersville area, and to return to some of my favorite spots!
