Heyhey! I’m Emily, and I’ll be a sophomore this fall. I’m a biology and athletic training major not only attending Millersville, but West Chester as well. I am SO excited for the launch of Her Campus Millersville. I am from Lancaster, born and raised, but the complete opposite part from Amber. I grew up right outside the city, and attended an urban high school that had a high rate of students/families living in poverty, as well as high teen pregnancy and drop out rates. However, despite these things, I am so thankful I went there- I was not only cultured, seeing that I, a caucasian female, was a minority, but I was taught so many life lessons, and saw numerous things that not everyone gets to see. I can honestly say high school prepared me for what the real world was going to throw at me. Enough with the blahblah boring…

 

My guilty pleasures are… Sex and the City, Twitter, Nutella, Glee, naps.

I can’t leave my house/dorm without… Chapstick, bobbypins, phone.

My favorite place to eat on campus is… The Galley.

My career aspirations are… I would ultimately like to have a PhD and be a professor, but until then my realistic, more attainable option is to be an Athletic trainer in either the high school or college setting. I was always involved in some type of athletics growing up, but due to injuries, I had to give them up. Since I cannot play on the field, I might as well contribute while standing on the sideline.

I am… a giver, and a sucker for animals. I have 5 cats at home, and they all hold a precious place in my heart.

My biggest pet peeve is… people who chew gum really loud, butt crack exposure and people who are inconsiderate.

I am currently playing… Set Fire to The Rain- Adele

I am currently reading… Eat, Pray, Love (I am in love with this book, and I plan on traveling Europe after I graduate thanks to it).

If I could meet anyone it would be… Princess Diana, I have always admired her generosity and selflessness. Her time definitely came far too soon. OR. Audrey Hepburn, I’ve been a fan of hers since I was a wee little one.

I never get tired of… Disney movies. I am probably the biggest closet Disney freak ever.

One thing I miss from my childhood is… Recess.

One thing I love about being a college student is… freedom.

Amber Strazzo was born in Queens, NY, but raised in Lancaster, PA. She is currently a Senior at Millersville University, studying Public Relations and Journalism. Amber is the Vice President of Programs of the Xi Tau chapter of Delta Zeta, and is very active in Greek life on her campus. She's a self-proclaimed social media junkie, and loves shopping, her Nook and catching up episodes of Pretty Little Liars. After college, Amber plans to head south for grad school for student affairs.
