Liz’s Picks for Downtown Lancaster

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

It’s a weekend at Millersville University you don’t have a car, and you’re bored to tears. What’s your best option to avoid calling Sugar Bowl and watching On Demand again? Here are my top picks from downtown Lancaster that are accessible by a swipe of your student ID.

Central Market This warehouse is located in the heart of downtown Lancaster and is any market lover’s dream. Inside you can find tons of locally made crafts, collectibles and decor, along with locally grown and cooked food and much more. Plan accordingly; this treasure trove is only open Tuesdays and Fridays, so get up early to snag the best finds!

Mommalicious, Inc.
The ULTIMATE vintage store in Lancaster (and there are so many cool ones). More than just fabulous dresses, jackets, shoes, sweaters, and purses, Mommalicious, Inc.  also boasts an impressive array of kitschy jewelry, scarves, knickknacks, and even candy from your parent’s childhood. Definitely a great place to bond with your mom or grandma; they’ll have a great time reminiscing with you.

The Pottery Works This is an adorable spot for a date or a Saturday with your girlfriends. You can paint plates, jewelry boxes, cookie jars and so much more in a relaxed, yet fun environment. You can even buy beads to make bracelets, necklaces, or earrings! Look out for the cute beads of all shapes (personal favorite: cupcakes!).

Annie Bailey’s If you want delicious and authentic Irish cuisine, then look no further than Annie Bailey’s. The atmosphere is relaxed and the décor is open and inviting. I recommend the chicken curry.

The Pressroom Restaurant and Bar
If you really want to impress your boyfriend or girlfriend, then this is the place. The romantic spot is a little pricey, but well worth the extra cash. The inside is beautiful and the food is delicious. If you can eat outside, the fountain in the courtyard adds to the amazing ambiance.

The Brickyard If you’re a girl who loves sports, then you’ll be blown away by this sports bar. The booths have mini TVs in them so you can’t miss a minute of whatever team you’re rooting for. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere of all of the sports fans make sure you’re even more pumped up than you thought you were before.
