Here’s What Your Favorite Place to Study Says About You

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

For some reason, I feel like recently everyone who is in school is in a funk – you’re sick for some reason, you’re swamped with homework, you have 4 papers due, like, yesterday, and you haven’t had a decent amount of sleep for days, weeks, who knows how long. I have found myself camped out in the library for hours on end recently, and I’m sure it’s not much different for some of you. Regardless of where you do it, here’s what some of the places you study say about you!

The Library

Ah, the library – the place where I’ve downed two caramel macchiatos in one sitting for the sake of staying up ’til midnight to finish a paper. The library being the quietest place on this list, this being your favorite place to study means you’re all about business – you’re there to get the job done in a place that you can actually do it. No noise, no roommates, and no distractions (unless you’re one of those people who sets up three notebooks to sit on their phones for an hour – then you’re there for the feeling of being productive, and honestly, I don’t blame you).

Coffee Shop

You’re not alone. I’ve definitely sat down at a table in my nearby Starbucks with a muffin and a cold brew and got to work. If you prefer a coffee shop, you’re probably a more creative person who is all about good and chill vibes. Being surrounded by quiet chatter, soft music, and the smell of freshly brewed coffee frees your mind and allows you to work well.

Outside

Sitting outside on a blanket and enjoying the nice weather is definitely one of my favorite ways to study. This means you’re a serene spirit who likes the simplicities of life – being out in the open gives you a breath of fresh air (literally and figuratively) that allows you to work at your highest potential.

Your Bed

I will admit, there have been times where I’ve been cuddled up in bed with some hot chocolate and my notes and had a great time – this is also what I almost always end up doing, mainly because my bed is just so comfy, so why not? If you study in your bed, you’re definitely a chill person – all about the comforts and luxuries of life. You gotta treat yourself while you work your brain, you know?

Literally One Minute Before Class

I can’t lie, I’ve done this a few times (or a lot, but anyway). Pulling out your notes before class is okay! This probably means that you’ve been occupied with other things that have taken up your time, whether it be extracurriculars, sports, etc. – studying slipped your mind! You’re a busy gal, no worries!

Regardless of where you do it, good luck with your studies!
