Welcome back!
This past semester, many Snapshot articles were focused on student fashionistas and the interesting styles spotted around campus. To kick off this semester, I have decided to share some of my own wardrobe with you and how I wore it during winter break.
About a month ago, I inherited several of my great-grandmother’s furs. Although this is a touchy subject (and I despise animal cruelty just as much as the next person), keep in mind that these coats were made several decades ago. Why keep them in the closet to collect moth balls when they provide the best warmth and style? So, here are a few of my favorites.
The Silver Fox
Ok so it’s not actually made of fox, but it does have a silver hint to it- and it’s extremely warm. Every time I put this on I feel like a Russian spy. Or a James Bond girl. Either way…it looks cool.
Cruella De Vil in the ‘Ville
This is by far my favorite coat. It is stunning, and a total head-turner. Sometimes I’m brave enough to wear it on campus, and it definitely stands out among the typical North Face jackets.
The Bear Coat
This isn’t actually made of bear either, but I feel like one when I’m wearing it. So I just refer to it as “my bear.” What I like most about this coat is that it looks good with anything, even my Eagles beanie.
Big Furs in the Big Apple
The week before the spring semester began I took a trip to Brooklyn, New York. While I was there, I also visited Central Park and was able to stay nice and warm– thanks to my great-grandma’s furs.
