“Do one thing every day that scares you” by, Eleanor Roosevelt is the quote that I am going to live by in 2019. I guess you can call it my new year’s resolution, but it’s something that I would like to continue throughout my life. I am a shy person who never really steps out my comfort zone, never does anything spontaneous, but that all changed today.

This morning my roommate Kayla convinced me to do something that I never dreamed possible, she convinced me to get my ear pierced. Now I know that getting your ears pierced doesn’t seem like much but for me, it was a huge step in the right direction.
I have a very low pain tolerance, I am scared of basically everything, I always dread going to the doctor and the dentist, so the piercing was a huge change for me. I knew that the piercing was really going to hurt, so I had to mentally prepare myself. Which consisted of me repeating the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt “do one thing every day that scares you” over and over in my head. I did it though, I conquered my fears and got the piercing, I never thought I would be able to do that.
I am telling you this story to let everyone know that they can be brave and do whatever they put their mind too. Everyone can conquer their fears as long as they believe in themselves, people are capable of amazing things as long as they put their mind too it. Make 2019 your year and do things that you never thought possible.
