Why did you choose Millersville? I chose it because it was both affordable and offered a good education. Their alumni seemed to have gone places with the education they received.
What has been your favorite memory at Millersville? I really enjoy movie nights with my friends. We order Chinese every Sunday, sit in our common area and watch movies!
Why did you choose your major? I chose English because you can creatively express yourself through writing. By doing so, you can inspire others.
Are you involved in anything on campus? Yes, I’m a writer for the Snapper, Her Campus and the Creative Writer’s Guild. I deejay for the campus radio (WIXQ) as well. On top of all that, I work at the Student Services Business Department.
What positions have you held in Her Campus? I currently am the treasurer. I plan fundraisers and keep track of the club’s funds.
If someone were to join The Snapper, what do you think is the best takeaway? The Snapper allows you to experience events on or off campus and you’re able to write about your experience. The best takeaway is being able to get more involved in the student-run events Millersville has to offer.
How did you join WIXQ? I attended their recruitment meeting where they talked about training to be a deejay. I’ll be training for four weeks. I’ll create my own playlist and I will have a block of time on the air to practice. I’ll also be watching someone else run their show to get experience.
What’s your favorite memory of the Creative Writer’s Guild? I had to write a fictional story from a prompt. I wasn’t too sure how people were going to react to it. When I read it aloud, they all responded positively and even clapped for me! It was nice to know that they enjoyed my story.
Where is your favorite place on campus? I really enjoy the library. The quiet rooms are the best. You can get a laptop, Starbucks and sit in a quiet room on the comfy couches. It’s a really good place to relax or focus on your work after a long day.
What do you plan to do after graduation? I want to be a screenwriter, write for a magazine or be a movie critic. Being all three of them would be amazing!
Do you have a mantra you live by? If so, what is it? Sometimes, it’s easy to feel like you’re the only one struggling. You feel like you’re the only one who is frustrated and unsatisfied. That feeling is a lie. If you just hold on and find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find you and make it all okay.
