If your mom is your bestie, then you have probably been through a lot of ups and downs with her. But through thick and thin, she has and always will be there for you. Here’s why it’s not such a bad thing for your mom to be your number one gal-pal:
1. She is the only person who loves you enough to tell you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth
If your outfit does make you look fat, you can always count on your mom to tell you to change into something else so she can actually be seen with you. And she’s the only person who means it when she says “no offense.”
2. Like it or not, mom advice is the only advice that is 100% fool-proof
Remember that one time your mom gave you really bad advice? Exactly. Even when you know she’s right, you won’t admit it until you have to.
3. She really is the only person who understands you… because she is you.
Even when you were throwing your “OMG-my-life-is-so-horrible-because-of-all-of-my-sixteen-year-old-problems” tantrums, she knew you were just full of bull. She was your age before. The same blood runs through her veins. Deep down, you knew she was ignoring you to teach you how to be a decent human being.
4. She will cut anyone who looks at you wrong
Sometimes it’s nice to have an assassin who will burn a itch-bay for taking your ball. She doesn’t care if the other kid is three, she will go all Cersei Lannister on any thieving brat anytime of day.
5. Even if she hates it, she will literally do and say anything to make you happy
Your mom will never tell you to your face that she is absolutely sick of taking you to the fair every year. But she will smile and walk through all the horse crap you drag her through every year, even if you are 23 now.
6. When you have people in your life who are toxic, your mom can spot it the second she meets them
She will not hesitate to tell you your new boo is a horrible choice for a mate. When you best friend from school is being a total itch-bay, she will tell you it’s time to drop that girl like a fly.
7. You can tell her anything and everything and she will judge you the least of anyone
If you punch some girl in the face, she will automatically assume they had it coming. You mom still sees you as the innocent baby she brought home from the hospital all those years ago. Your mom is the easiest person to talk to.
8. She will be your cheerleader for all time, even for the smallest accomplishments
You finally got that piece of candy out of your teeth? You mom will tell the entire PTO board. Your mom is the only person who will make a huge deal out of everything good you do.
9. She is the only person who loves you unconditionally
Your mom loves you for you and all your crazy, obsessive and, frankly, unbearable traits. You’re the best part of her world, and she is always the best part of yours.
