10 Ways You Know You’re a Senior

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

As bright-eyed, bushy-tailed freshmen, we never thought we’d see the day when we dreaded going to class or had to bribe ourselves with a goblet of coffee to get out of bed. However, reality quickly set in and we realized that college was going to be hard. Nevertheless, we persisted and here we are — just a few months from graduation and joining the real world. Here are some signs you’re definitely a senior:

1. Surviving your final semester feels like crawling… through quicksand

SOS.

2. The people around you look more and more like children

It doesn’t matter if they’re only a semester behind you — they’re all babies in your eyes.

3. You constantly debate if it’s worth going to class anymore

The answer is usually no, but you end up going anyway.

4. You slowly start prioritizing sleep over doing homework

Okay, but can failing really hurt me now?

5. That feeling you get after you turn in your graduation application

I’M WALKIN’ ON SUNSHINE, Y’ALL.

6. When your graduation countdown is under 100 days

Yes! Real world here I come!

7. When your graduation countdown is under 100 days

HAHAHAHA WAIT I’M NOT READY FOR THIS.

8. When all your friends start getting post-grad jobs and you’re just … there

Somebody will hire me eventually… Right?

9. Realizing you’re going to have to say a senior farewell to your organization

For me, Her Campus Millersville has been a major part of my life for nearly two years. The thought of no longer attending meetings, writing articles, and hanging out with my best friends all the time just makes me want to ugly cry. And that’s probably all I’ll do during my farewell speech. #wherearethetissues

10. When you look around campus and realize just how much you’re going to miss it

Sure, college was one of the most — if not the most — stressful experiences of your life. The nights were long, the homework was sometimes grueling, and you always found yourself crying into a bag of Doritos at the end of an awful week (or was that just me?). But since the friends and memories you’ve made so far are priceless, I think we can all agree that college was worth the struggle. Don’t forget to cherish these last few months, collegiettes, because life gets super real from here.

Millersville

I am a senior at Millersville University, where I am pursuing my bachelor's in communication studies. As the Editor-in-Chief of Her Campus Millersville, I am so thrilled to be able to lead and collaborate with the many creative students that populate our campus. My personal mission as EIC is to spread the word about Her Campus Millersville and bring the chapter back up to pink-level before I graduate in May 2017. In my spare time, I love binge-watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix and spending time with my fiancé and our families. I'm also a sales associate at my local LOFT store and a proud fur mama to a sweet pup named Java. My passions include social media, fashion, coffee, and bad puns. My ultimate dream is to work for Her Campus Media at their headquarters in Boston, MA -- let's hope I can make it there! Instagram: @dezidonaldson
