For People Who Are Bad At College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Miami chapter.

Some people, either temporarily or forever, are bad at school for whatever reason.…but they still have high expectations of their performance. The amount of effort put into showing up is UNBELIEVABLE. Everyday is a rough. But HEYY you gotta go make that money, so you finish all your assignments last minute and struggle through everyday.

Here’s some things that I hope  will brighten your day because it’s hard out there, and you get enough criticism as it is.

1. I see you cried for one hour after an exam instead of your usual four, I think that’s pretty DAMN sexy.

I see you unafraid to express your complete and utter disappointment in yourself. Express it and Pick yourself up.

2. I see you changing your routine so you can avoid distractions. The EFFORT you put in to helping yourself even though you fail nearly EVERY time, is pretty impressive. Just walk it off.

Listen to Taylor on this one. You just have to keep trying.

3. I see how you showed up two hours late for group study.

Be proud you still went. I know it was hard.

4. I’d still call you for advice, don’t question your worth.

We all have to improve things about ourselves and create better habits. This doesn’t discount you as a human being.

5. Please march your butt into the academic resource center to deal with your study habits.

Don’t end up like this a day before an exam buddy.

6. If the material is too hard to even start, get HELP. DO SOMETHING.

7. Talking about how bad you are at school can be bad for your self esteem. Talk about puppies instead.

8. It’s OKAY to get your friend or roommate to drag you out of bed in the morning.

It lets you know who will save you from yourself.

9. If you’re feeling like you’re surrounded by failure, you shouldn’t let yourself lose hope.

Whatever happens, you deal with it. You can do better. I promise.

10. Keep it together and drag yourself to your professor’s office hours.

And FINALLY, I leave you with the wise words of Mindy Kaling:

Happy Finals season!

I love writing, cheesecake and Fanfiction.
