We’ve all been there. You meet a cute guy and you get his number. It’s been a few weeks of you two really hitting it off, but suddenly he stops texting you back. You run to your girlfriends and spend hours trying to figure out what has happened. Phrases like “Is it me? Did I say something wrong?” race through your head and you just don’t get it. Well, ladies, we’ve got the answers right here for you!

Her Campus took the time to interview a few guys to get their side of the story. In their opinion, if a girl texts them and they don’t respond, she shouldn’t fret. An anonymous source told us that girls who text him when he is out, but don’t get a reply need to realize that he is probably very intoxicated and incoherent. His thumbs simply can’t formulate words! (Sounds like a personal problem.)

We asked sophomore Justin Cameron what goes through his head when he chooses to stop texting a girl back mid-conversation. “I’m just playing hard to get – girls aren’t the only ones who excel at that tactic,” he said.

He also mentioned a little something about girls who simply text him to check in. “The only female I have to check in with is my mother,” he said.

Girls also had something to say on this topic. We interviewed sophomore Myhgail Justiniano and she told us that in her opinion, “it’s important for girls to understand that if he’s not responding each time you contact him, he is most likely not interested.”

Time to move on!

She also believes that if guys aren’t texting you back, it’s probably because they are simply not glued to their phones or may be spending some “bro” time with their friends.

So see, ladies? There is no reason to panic when you’re phone isn’t blowing up with messages. And always remember, there are plenty of other fish in the sea, ones that will you text back.
