HC: What made you want to become an ice skater?

LS: I fell in love with skating the first time I stepped foot on the ice. It started out as recreational, but then a coach saw me on a public skate session and asked if I would like to do lessons with her. I said yes and my skating career took off from there.

HC: How long have you been skating?

LS: About 13 years

HC: With such a high and constant record, how did you and your team feel going into Nationals this year?

LS: After months of hard work and pushing ourselves beyond our limits, we were more than ready to compete. All we had to do was fall back on our training and leave everything out on the ice.

HC: What do you think makes your team stand out above the rest?

LS: Our goal from the beginning was to never settle. We were always pushing ourselves to be better than the day before, on and off the ice. Our elite skating skills and physical strength help us stand out as a result of hard work, passion, and dedication. We also have an unbreakable bond!

HC: Do you plan on continuing with an ice skating career after college? If not, what would you like to do?

LS: It’s been a rewarding 13 years but I think it is time to tie up the skates after college. I hope to have a career in sports marketing or brand promotion when I graduate!

HC: If you could have lunch with a famous person who would it be?

LS: Amelia Earhart. I have always wanted to know what happened to her!

HC: If you could go on a date anywhere uptown where would it be?

LS: Paesano’s…but I would never turn down Buffalo Wild Wings!

HC: What are you most attracted to in a person?

LS: Sense of humor and a good taste in music.
