Presidential Candidate: Colten Kidwell
Colten is a junior Business Economics major with a minor in Political Science from Oxford, Ohio. This candidate is a self-proclaimed “townie” because he grew up right here in Oxford. He says he “feels like [he’s] been a Miami student for 20 years.” On campus, he is currently the Vice President of Public Relations for Pi Sigma Epsilon, a member of Campus Crusade for Christ, an Undergraduate Associate for two economics classes and works in the Miami English Department.

Fun Facts about Colten:

  • Favorite 90’s song: “It’s all coming back to me now” by Celine Dion

  • Who has been the most influential figure on your life? My grandma who raised me.  She was an amazing woman and instilled within me amazing values of honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

  • Colten also made a feature length action movie called RETRIBUTION, which premiered to a sold out Taylor Auditorium in FSB last semester

Vice Presidential Candidate: Molly Kenney

V.P. of Campus Activities Council Candidate: Matt Turk
Matt is a junior Marketing major from Cincinnati, Ohio. He is involved with Campus Activities Council on the First-year Opportunities Board, Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. Matt was also the Executive Co-chair of Chater Day Ball and an RA last year.

Fun facts about Matt:

  • What has been your favorite Miami moment? My favorite Miami moment was Charter Day Ball 2012. It was very rewarding to see all of the students, faculty, staff, and Oxford residents come together to recognize the founding of our university. And of course it was awesome, since I had the chance to plan it.

  • Who has been the most influential figure on your life? Blake Mycoski who is the founder of TOMS Shoes.  He has really has opened my eyes to social entrepreneurship and the idea of “doing well by doing good” is something that I hope to embody in my professional career.

  • What is your most embarrassing Miami moment? It occurred about two weeks into my freshman year.  I locked myself out of my dorm room wearing only a towel.  To top it off, the only RA in the building lived two floors up on the all-girls floor. I spent much too long walking around in a towel surrounded by all girls.  I was mortified to say the least.
