Quick, Easy, and Cheap Halloween Costumes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Miami (OH) chapter.

The second the calendar switches from September to October, people start losing their minds over Halloween.

“What’re you going to be this year?”

“Do you know of any Halloween parties yet?”

“Should I do a funny or slutty costume?”

“Let’s watch *insert any number of cheesy Halloween movies from our childhood*”

And you know what? I don’t want to hear it this year! I’m busy with school, work and life in general. I don’t have time to get creative on my costume this year. That’s why I will be partaking in Zero Effort Halloween 2k18. And you should too.

Think about it! Not spending a crap ton of cash on an outfit you’ll only wear once. Wearing clothes that will actually keep you from freezing in the late-October-night. Not going to a some pretentious party trying to be the funniest/hottest person in the room. ]

Honestly it sounds pretty fantastic to me. To really get into the anti-Halloween mood, here are some costumes that you can throw together at the last second!

1. Ghost

Grab a white tee, a black sharpie, draw a face on it and there you go! You’re a ghost!

2. Pumpkin

Along the same lines as the ghost, just get an orange shirt and slap a jack-o-lantern face on it!

3. Cats Pajamas

For this costume you don’t even have to get out of your PJs! To make it even easier than gluing cat stuffed animals to you, just get some cat ears and use eyeliner to put whiskers on your face.

4. Sriracha

I’m sure we’ve all seen this shirt on Urban Outfitter’s website. Or that hipster guy from spanish class probably wears it every other week. Regardless, snatch up this shirt and a green beanie and you’re a bottle of delicious hot sauce!

5. Sims

The beauty of the costume is that you can wear whatever you want! The only aspect of the costume is a headband with a green diamond on a spring on it. Super simple and a great way to wear warm clothes if it happens to be cold on Halloween!

6. “Not a Costume” Costume

If you’re really trying to protest Halloween this year, look no further.
